freshman class averaged a 3.73 high school GPA and 1,202 SAT score. There are 16 senior class and nine student body presidents in the group. They come from 481 high schools, and 18.2 are from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Campus LivingResidence halls offer students options for all-male, all-female or co-ed living experiences, with genders usually separated by floors or wings. Most rooms are doubles, with a few single and triple options. Hall sizes range from 40 to over 300 residents. Residence halls are equipped with laundry facilities, basic cable service, Internet service, in-room local telephone service, and television lounge areas. Gonzaga’s apartment complexes offer students full kitchen amenities.

Campus DiningThe Marketplace is Gonzaga’s primary dining hall. Students also may use their meal pass at any of the campus dining options: Marketplace Express in the Globe Room of Cataldo Hall (open weekdays for lunch), Panda Express, also in Cataldo Hall (Chinese fare), Sub-Connection in the lower COG, Spike’s in the lower COG (open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday), and Iggy’s Pizza Pie (named for St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, campus pizza delivery…It’s a spiritual experience!). A new feature in Spike’s is Freshen’s frozen yogurt. Coffee stations dot the campus.

Our PresidentDr. Thayne McCulloh received his bachelor’s degree from GU in 1989 and went on to earn his doctorate from Oxford University. He has

Community Impact The stories of Gonzaga and Spokane have been intertwined and connected for nearly as long as both have existed. Spokane is home to about 7,800 GU alumni and to most of its 7,750 students. Gonzaga is Spokane’s fifth-largest non-governmental employer with almost 1,200 employees. GU students volunteer more than 100,000 hours annually. Businesses, non-profit institutions, courts and other government offices benefit from Gonzaga interns, researchers and student assistants. SpokaneNear Nature, Near Perfect is the city’s slogan, and Gonzaga students find their home here quite charming. With 76 lakes, five skiing areas, 20 golf courses and three major shopping malls within a short drive of campus, what’s not to like? Paint ball, laser tag, bowling and rock climbing options abound. Multiple music venues, live theater and Broadway plays, Spokane Symphony and three professional sports teams (Spokane Shock arena football, Spokane Chiefs hockey and Spokane Indians baseball) add a lively spirit to the mix.
