Iago professes that he loves Desdemona; also that the thought of Othello with his wife plagues his thoughts. This suggests that he wants to defile Desdemona either by sleeping with her or other means. Gross.

Declares a victory and orders a party
Othello leaves Cassio in charge and tells him to restrain himself (don’t drink too much!). Cassio does not follow orders.
Iago sends Roderigo after a drunk Cassio (he’s a fighter). They come running back into the scene with Cassio chasing Roderigo.

Is beyond distraught by losing his position. Iago tells Cassio that he should talk to Desdemona and convince her to convince Othello to get his job back
Wants to go back to Venice; Iago convinces him not to.
