GRAND MARSHAL BOB JOHNSONFormer Auburn Fire Chief Bob Johnson started

his 22 year career in Auburn in May of 1983 after a long time term as chief in Tillamook, Oregon. His amazing career of helping and leading others spans 47 productive years. When asked why he became a firefighter, he gave a chuckle and then said that the printable version is that he was a volunteer firefighter in every community that he lived in. Based upon that experience, he decided that a career in firefighting was his calling.

Chief Bob has many accomplishments. He is a member of the Auburn Noon Lions and a long standing Santas helper for special circumstance children and has had many associations as part of his job. He was president of the Emergency Management Team and Director of Emergency Management for Auburn. Bob married Jessie in 1995 and they have a total of four kids and 13 grandchildren. They are now retired and traveling.

Bob brought the Auburn Fire Department together in a cohesive group when he arrived and was part of the Citizens committee to promote the transition to Valley Regional Fire Authority. According to Chief Bob, Its been a real honor serving the Auburn community and making some life long friends.
