H o T e L SThe hotels we choose for overnight stays are specially selected, char-ming and comfortable houses which belong to the best of their catego-ries (mostly first class or excellently-appointed tourist superior classhotels). Air conditioning in German hotels is widespread but still notstandard and therefore cannot be guaranteed. All rooms have privatebath or shower/ WC. Most of the hotels offer a full breakfast buffet in themorning. Baggage handling (one piece per person) is provided.

Visit oneof the most important buildings of German history and see the room where Martin Luther in only eleven weekstranslated the new Testament. Three hundred years before, St. elizabeth of Thuringia spent almost all her life at the Wartburg. Afterwards, we continue to a cultural treasure, Weimar, where numerous famous persons likeGoethe, Schiller, Liszt and Richard Strauss lived and worked. The evening is free, maybe for a walk along the Reeperbahn? eastward to eisenach, dominated by the Wartburg Castle.Visit one of the most important buildings of Germanhistory and see the room where Martin Luther in only eleven weeks translated the new Testament. Three hundred years before, St. elizabeth of Thuringia spentalmost all her life at the Wartburg. Afterwards, we continue to a cultural treasure, Weimar, where numerousfamous persons like Goethe, Schiller, Liszt and RichardStrauss lived and worked. Afterwards we head to ourtoday’s destination, Leipzig, check-in at our hotel and visitone of Germany´s largest Christmas markets. The mainattraction is located on the historical market square infront of the ancient town hall, a 25yard Christmas treewith thousands of lights. See the exhibitionhall and the demonstration workshops where all steps ofthe painting and glazing process are explained to you.Afterwards, we go on to Dresden, the capital of the FreeState of Saxony. on a city tour you will get to know one ofthe loveliest cities of central europe. Due to its generalmild climate, the baroque architecture and the renownedmuseums, Dresden is also called ‘Florence of the elbe’. See the main sights such as the Semper opera House, thebaroque Zwinger and, overall, the restored Frauenkirche.nowadays, it is hard to believe that after the bombing in1945 the city centre was completely destroyed. D A Y 3 : F R I D A Y / T U e S D A YDresden – Annaberg – Schneeberg – Plauen (B/ D)Today we are heading mostly along country roads, viaSeiffen, a centre of the wooden toy industry, to two ancientminer-villages, Schneeberg and Annaberg. These towns are typical for the erzgebirge (ore Mountains) and actuallyhome of the German tradition of woodcarving andChristmas pyramids. In former times, light – representedby candles – was an important symbol of life and safety for the miners, working in the dark tunnels. The woodcarvers combined their deep religious beliefs andused candles to illuminate the pyramids, decorated withsaints and symbols of the holy night. The Christmas market in Annaberg is dating back to 1510. Schneeberghosts St. Wolfgang’s Church with an altar from 1539, carved by Lucas Cranach the elder. In the afternoon we continue towards Plauen, famous for its handcraftedlace. Plauen was founded in 1122 and since the 16th century has been an important place for cotton manufacturing. our farewell dinner will be served at ourhotel. overnight at Hotel Dormero o.s.

D A Y 4 : S A T U R D A Y / W e D n e S D A YPlauen – Bamberg – Frankfurt (B)This morning we are travelling through the Franconianforest to the imperial city of Bamberg. Founded in the 9th century, it has a nicely preserved old Town which wasdeclared UneSCo World Heritage Site. We will see the cathedral and the former Benedictine abbey ofMichaelsberg before, unfortunately, it is time for the lastimpressions of German Christmas markets. You will havesufficient time to do some last-minute shopping before we start our journey through the rolling hills of Franconia back to Frankfurt, our final destination which we will reach in the late afternoon.

This Franconian metropolis has a very special flairwhich you will experience during an orientative city tour. Youwill see the former ‘Reichsparteitagsgelände’ (Party RallyeGrounds), Court Room 600 where the famous nuremberg trialswere held, the beautiful old Town with preserved city wall andgates, the Hauptmarkt, the Imperial Castle (Kaiserburg) and

much more. nuremberg and the Franconian region are alsofamous for its special grilled sausages, so called ‘nürnbergerRostbratwürste’, which you have to try before you have timeon your own to visit the ‘Christkindlesmarkt’ – probably themost famous Christmas market of the world. on the way backto Munich we will make a short stop in the city of Regensburgwhere at the castle of the aristocratical family of Thurn andTaxis (who invented the modern post delivery system) a unique, little Christmas market awaits you. Return to Munichin the evening.

D A Y 5 : W e D n e S D A YMunich – Salzburg – Munich (B)Today we leave Germany going to the native city of the worldfamous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Salzburg inAustria. Quite justifiable, the city has beendeclared a treasure of world civilization by UneSCo. In addition to that, Trier is Germany's oldest wine-growing centre. Famousvineyard estates and celebrated wine producers are headquartered here. So it also pays to become acquainted withthe subterranean realm of the Trier sommeliers! Leave for a scenic route along the Moselle with a wine tasting in one of the

Please read carefully the general information that follow. They limit our liability and that of theassociate companies providing services purchased. They outline the terms and conditions under which Touring Tours & Travelwill operate. Acceptance of booking confirmationof any item of this program represents accep-tance of the terms and conditions as follows:

Reservations have to be made in writing and aresubject to availability. After a reservation hasbeen made Touring Tours & Travel will provide aconfirmation that will as well be sent in writing. If the requested service is not available, TouringTours & Travel will undertake all efforts to provide a suitable alternative. The client has between 7-21 days to meet the deposit requirements. Failure to meet the deposit requirements can result in release of the reservation space. Reconfirming of space relea-sed is subject to new check of availability.

A deposit of 25% of the tour price may be required within 21 days of confirmation. Final payment is due at the latest 14 days priorto the beginning of services (unless otherwisespecified).

Regarding payment, there are two options:

Cancellation has to be made in writing and is only valid with a written cancellation confirmation by Touring Tours & Travel.Cancellation fees will apply as follows:

Guided Tours / Independent Tours:Up to 45 days prior to departure, all funds paidwill be refunded in full, less an administrativecharge of eURo 30. - per person. Additional cancellation charges are to be paid if cancellationis received

- 45 to 30 days prior to departure: 10% min. eURo 30.-

- 29 to 15 days prior to departure: 25%

- 14 to 3 days prior to departure: 50%

- later than 3 days: 100% of the land tourprice.

- no refunds for no-shows and no refunds for unused portions during the course of the tour.

City Breaks: If cancellation in writing is received by the Touring Tours & Travel up to 15 days prior to departure, all funds paid will be refunded in full,less an administrative charge of eURo 30.- perbooking. Additional cancellation charges are to

- 14 to 7 days prior to arrival: 25%

- 6 to 3 days prior to arrival: 50%

- later than 3 days prior to arrival: 100% of thepackage price.

Before concluding the travel contract, the travelagent points the passenger to current passportand visa requirements. each passenger is responsible on his own for obtaining the papersand documents needed for the destinations thatwill be visited. In case of difficulties caused byflouting terms of visa, the passenger has no rightto withdraw from the travel contract; the cancellation terms mentioned above are to apply.

The operator is not responsible or liable for loss,damage or theft of luggage and/or personalbelongings, or for personal injury, accident,and/or illness. Please check with your TravelAgent or Insurance Agent for additional insurance to coverall risks concerned for the duration of your trip.

L I M I T A T I o n S o F L I A B I L I T Y

Touring Tours & Travel ’s (operator for all boo-kings out of this brochure) contractual liability for damages which are not bodily harms is limited bythree times the amount of the travelling fare ifthe damages are not caused with intent or bycommitting an act of culpable negligence or if theoperator is obliged to compensate a damage withrespect to the passengers only because of an administering body’s fault. The legal liability according to § 23 PBefG amounts to eURo 1,000.- at most for damages to the passenger’s property which are not caused with intend or by committing an act of culpablenegligence.

In case of relevant impediments, endangerings orimpairments caused by unforeseeable circumstances as war impacts, political or socialunrest, epidemics, administrative or judicial orders (e.g. prohibition of crossing the border),natural disasters, destroying of accommodationsor similar occurrences both parties are entitled toterminate the contract in compliance with thesecontractual terms. After a passenger’s termination the operator can demand reimbursement for services that have alreadybeen performed according to § 471 of the German BGB.

Deviations from the services stipulated in thecontract Changes concerning the services booked by the passenger that become necessaryafter the conclusion of the contract and are notcontrary to good faith can be performed by theoperator if the travel’s general shape is not reduced considerably; the passenger must be informed by the operator immediately after having got positive knowledge of the admissibledeviations. Facing a change of an essential feature of the booked travel, the passenger is entitled to cancel the contract.

The operator is entitled to terminate the contractwithout notice if a passenger disrupts the travel despite warnings of the bus crew in such a way that the other passengers can’t be

expected to continue the travel or if a passengerrefuses to follow objective advises resp. orders ofthe bus crew. In this case, the operator has the right to demand the whole fare unless the disturbing passenger’s seat can be allocated to another person so that an economic disadvantage does not occur.

- Itinerary: If unforeseen conditions beyondthe control of Touring Tours & Travel GmbHand/or their suppliers so require, the touroperator reserves the right to make chan-ges in the itinerary, timetable and activities.
