A Thought for the Day Good Tidings! The Bible says: And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:10–11 KJV). Think on this: at Christmas, people should be reminded of why Jesus came to Earth. Christmas isn’t just about the decorations, the tree, the gift-giving, and festivities; it’s also about joy—joy for the fact that Jesus came to Earth because He loves each of us. And because He wanted to give His life for us. The word “tidings” is an old-fashioned word for “recent news.”1 On the night Jesus was born, the angels said they had “good tidings,” which meant that they had good news to pass on. Now we can pass on that good news and joy to others by sharing the story of Christmas and showing others just how great Jesus is. Good Tidings!

    The Bible says:

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you

good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto

you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ

    the Lord (Luke 2:10–11 KJV).

    Think on this:

at Christmas, people should be reminded of why Jesus came

to Earth. Christmas isn’t just about the decorations, the tree,

the gift-giving, and festivities; it’s also about joy—joy for the

fact that Jesus came to Earth because He loves each of us. And

because He wanted to give His life for us.

The word “tidings” is an old-fashioned word for “recent news.”1

On the night Jesus was born, the angels said they had “good

tidings,” which meant that they had good news to pass on. Now

we can pass on that good news and joy to others by sharing the

story of Christmas and showing others just how great Jesus is.
