A REMINDER OF ETIQUETTE FOR BOWLERS

• Dress code is in effect while playing at Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club. No shorter than knee

length attire is recommended. Teams may wear whites or same colour tops and bottoms

for tournament play.

• Wear approved footwear - flat-soled, heel-less shoes with grooves no deeper than 1/4”.

• Begin and end each game with a handshake.

• Ensure that you do not damage the green. Deliver the bowl smoothly. Ground sheets are

mandatory for club games.

• Following your bowl up the green obscures your opponent’s view and is considered poor

etiquette.

• Do not openly criticize the greens, particularly if you are a guest at another club.

• Complimenting your opponent or a team-mate on a good shot is considered good

sportsmanship.

• When a player is delivering a bowl, do not distract him or her by standing too close or

talking.

• Stand off the green when not actively engaged in play.

• Be ready when it’s your turn.

• Assist with the return of all equipment to their storage place when the game is finished.

ANNUAL FEES MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO BOWLING ON CLUB GREENS.

ALL GUESTS MUST SIGN A WAIVER BEFORE BOWLING.

OUT OF TOWN WINNERS Please Note! Starting with the 2019 season, only First Place and/or Trophy winners will be published in the monthly newsletter. All other placings will not be reported in the newsletter but will be published and posted on the notice board in the clubroom.
