Dear families: Have a great weekend. Please see information below
regarding the Holiday Market.
Action Plan: As previously mentioned in our October 18th newsletter, Gordon
Greenwood’s Action plan is centered around literacy. To support your children at home,
three reading links have been provided to help support reading at home. Please take the
time to view the link appropriate for your child’s age group. Spending time at home
reading and writing with your child in combination with the work being done at school will
ultimately lead to the greatest gains in student achievement.

Primary concerts on separate days. Primary will be on Tuesday, December 10th and the
Intermediate will be held on Wednesday, December 11th. Both will have an afternoon
performance at 1:00 pm and an evening performance at 6:00 pm.
REPORT CARDS: Report cards for all students will be available to view Friday,

online at the following link https://www.myeducation.gov.bc.ca/aspen/logon.do (for more
information see instructions attached to this newsletter) The school secretary cannot

The Gordon Greenwood PAC is excited to bring back the Reindeer Lane Gift Shop to our school this year for our students. On Friday December 13th, 2019 we are going to open the Reindeer Lane Kids Gift Shop in the gym at Gordon Greenwood. The PAC executive will continue with a White Elephant sale to encourage a greener holiday (recycling gently used items from your home). Last year we raised over $3000! All of the students will have an opportunity to come to the shop and do their holiday shopping. All items will be priced at $2. Students will be able to purchase gifts for loved ones with experienced parent volunteer shoppers to help them when needed. They will then take their gifts to a wrapping station where all of their purchases will be wrapped. We are asking all families to bring in any gently used or new items, in good to excellent condition, to donate to the Reindeer Lane Kids Gift Shop. There are approximately 375 students in our school and we are hoping to receive enough items that each student can purchase as many gifts as needed. That means we are looking for over 2000 items! This is a great opportunity to clean out your drawers, cupboards, garage, sheds, toy boxes and more! Items we are looking for include: Books, mugs, games, puzzles, stuffed animals, toys, jewelry, DVD’s, CD’s, household items, crafting supplies, unopened lotions and soaps, kitchen items, tools, sporting goods, pet items, Xmas decorations, etc. The items must be in CLEAN, WORKING, and in GOOD condition as the students will be purchasing the items as gifts. Please note that we will only accept NEW and UNOPENED bathroom items like lotions, bubble bath, soaps, perfume, etc. Also, electronic items must be in working condition with power cords provided where applicable. We need items for moms, dads, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and pets. The shop volunteers will carefully go through all of the items to make sure the students have a good selection to choose from. We are also looking for wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift bags, packing paper, small sized boxes, etc. to help us wrap the purchases. And we will need a lot of volunteers at the wrapping stations and to help our little shoppers in the store! If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up now by emailing Arleigh Wong at [email protected]. Please bring your items to the lobby of the school between now and December 11, 2019. More information will be sent home with students closer to the date. Thank you for your support! Arleigh Wong, PAC Vice-President
