Chapter LVI: Decisive and Headstrong

Over the weekend, the news of Jezebelle's confrontation with Polytechnic students

spread throughout the Wilson High. Since she faced them on Saturday, the stories haveexpanded farther to what actually happened that day by Monday. Stories ranged fromJezebelle beating up all the Polytechnic boys by herself to Jezebelle calling up an army ofWilson High students to fight against their rival schools' students. No matter what actuallyhappened, it seemed like there was a huge influx of Polytechnic students hanging aroundWilson High School in search of Jezebelle.

Using this chance to gather information, Tiffany went around to students she did notrecognize and asked them for more information on Jezebelle. Unfortunately, none of themwanted to tell her anything about Jezebelle's history at Polytechnic High School. Actually,none of them knew her that well in the first place. There was only two common things thateveryone knew about her. One, they thought she moved to Africa. Two, they were

frightened of her.Puzzled, Tiffany wondered why they started hanging out around here. Why did they

want to see her again? If they were so afraid of her, why would they waste time beforeschool to track her down? None of this made sense to Tiffany. However, she wasn't going togive up. Since Jezebelle was Jin's girlfriend, she was even more determined to dig intoJezebelle's past. There was something not right about the girl.

************************************************Waking up with a headache, Kristian glanced at the alarm clock to see what time it

was. But for whatever reason, he couldn't see the time at all no matter how hard he tried.Wait a second. Did this mean he has to get his eyes checked for glasses? He sat up but then,he jumped to notice black hair next to him. Gaping at her, Kristian poked her cheek tocheck. Yes, it was his girlfriend. What was Rin doing here?

After being poked at, Rin sat up and blinked her eyes awake. Then, she wiped hereyes carefully and looked around the room. At the sight of Kristian gaping at her, she lookeddown at her clothing. For whatever reason, she was wearing Kristian's shirt.

h my God! h fuck.

hat did you do to me?screamed Rin, falling out of his bed. ou pervert! didn't do anything!said Kristian defensively, looking at the ground for her clothing.

The ground was spotless though. 'm sure if we did something, I would remember. How can Inot remember?

ou must have raped me!cried Rin, stumbling to get up and rush out of the room. uck,said Kristian, getting out of his bed as well. hat the fuck happen?Running out of his room, Rin went straight to the restroom in a panic. When she flung

the door open, Rin blinked at the sight of Jordan half-naked in front of the mirror with arazor. He was wearing nothing but his boxers. They had puppies on them. Screaming, Rin

grabbed a hold of the nearest towel and threw it right into Jordan's face. hat the hell do you think you're doing?asked Jordan, angry. ou guys are all perverts!cried Rin, running the opposite direction.However, Jordan was too mad to think correctly so he went after her and dragged her

back inside the restroom. Rin struggled to free herself. Jordan was demanding that sheapologized for attacking him this early in the morning, especially since he was using a razor

and nearly cut himself. Since her arms were useless, Rin tried to step on his foot instead.She succeeded. He lost his balance. They both fell over and into the bathtub.Coming in the bathroom, Kristian gawked at the sight of Rin and Jordan trying to get

up at the same time from the bathtub and failing since they kept pushing each other backdown. Kristian smacked his forehead with his hand before he lowered himself and picked Rinup, bridal-style. The last sight Jordan saw when he got up was Kristian easily carrying Rinaway with her screaming her head off.

At last, everything settled down as Kristian and Rin sat side by side at the kitchentable with Jordan on the other side. They were drinking tea in silence. Before Rin could pickup her courage to ask what happened last night, Jinx walked in the room, noticed everyonein the room, and backed out quietly.

ome back here Jinx!said Kristian, angry.Jinx returned to the kitchen. e ran out of shampoo and conditioner.

'll buy it later,said Kristian quickly, pointing at the seat next to Jordan. it. ho are you?asked Jinx, tossing Jordan a suspicious look.Jordan smiled at her. forgot to introduce myself. My name's Jordan Greene and I'll

be your roommate for a while until I figure out what the fuck I'm going to do with my life. elcome to the club,said Jinx, shifting her attention to Kristian. ow what? hat happened last night?asked Kristian, trying to remain calm. Rin was blushing and

tugging onto Kristian's shirt down protectively. id Rin-chan and I- have to say this,said Jordan in interruption. Everyone else turned their eyes toward

him. i-chan, I saw your panties. They were orange.

Flushing bright red, Rin stuttered,

well. fter Uncle and Auntie left, you two studied a textbook together and fell asleep ontop of the desk next to each other.

hen, why am I wearing Kristian's shirt?asked Rin, pointing at the shirt. nd how did I end up in my bed with Rin-chan?asked Kristian, suspicious. oth of you look uncomfortable in your dress clothes so I changed you both out of

them,said Jinx coldly, sipping the tea. f you'll excuse me, I need to get to school. Goodmorning and good bye.

After Jinx left the room, Kristian started shivering and sticking his tongue out. He wasnow complaining about how nasty it was that Jinx touched him. As for Rin, she was relieved.One, nothing happened between her and Kristian. Two, it was Jinx who changed her out ofher clothes, not Jordan at least. Wait. Jordan.

nd where were you?asked Rin, narrowing her eyes at Jordan. in and I came home late,said Jordan, getting up now. He was already dressed in his

school clothes. ince Kristian already handed his extra key to me, I let myself in. I checkedup on you guys and noticed that you were both asleep in the same bed together. I thought itwas the usual thing and didn't want to disturb so I went to bed myself.

ou must not let anyone know about this,said Rin, tossing Jordan a warning look.

Jordan thought about it.

ho wears boxers with puppies on them again? o one,said Rin quickly, understanding him. nd who wears orange undies? ot anyone I know of,said Jordan, shrugging. t's such a childish color anyways.Bolting up to her feet, Rin glared at Jordan before she pushed past him and out of

the room, muttering something about going home to get ready for school. Kristian watchedthem in amusement before he laughed at the look on Jordan's face. Exasperated, Jordan satback down and tried to act carefree.

ristian, what's up? elieved,said Kristian honestly. othing happened... know that feeling too well,said Jordan, feeling empathetic. ot surprised,said Kristian, picking up both Jinx and Rin's empty glasses and dropping

them off at the sink.

nd for the record, do not date Jinx. hy? Because she's my cousin?Kristian shook his head. He was washing the glasses now. ou can do better. ecommendations? o you are looking,said Kristian, placing the glasses neatly in place. Jordan thought

better than to disagree with Kristian. He wasn't exactly looking but he knew he had to get anew girlfriend soon. ow about you get back together with Roselle?

ot happening,said Jordan quickly. ucks,said Kristian, drying his hands. tried at least. t's for your group isn't it? hat else?

Jordan smiled at Kristian's honesty and continued,

Jordan's shoulder. ou'll find a new girl in no time. They come flocking to you. You just haveto sit back and pick them up as they come along.

At Kristian's comment, Jordan was speechless. still can't believe you're dating

had to drive Rin back to her house so she could change and pick up her things. Moreover, shehad to apologize to her mother for falling asleep at his house again. When she mentionedthis next to Kristian's car, Jordan and Kristian made identical faces.

he made sure to get ready in the restroom, wear his clothes, and sneak down the stairswithout Jezebelle noticing. Right when he was out the door, his father stopped him in his

tracks and forced him back into the kitchen for a talk. here are you going without your girlfriend?Jin smiled sweetly. id I forget her? I thought she was right behind me. in,said Mrs. Song, looking up from the stove. ou are horrible at lying. e need to talk,said his father, forcing him to sit down. Now.After being lectured at about trying to leave the house without Jezebelle, Jin nodded

in understanding. Not once did he try to defend himself or interrupt his father. By the end ofthe lecture about responsibility towards his girlfriend, his father finally stopped and lookedat Jin sternly.

o you have any questions?Jin thought about it. es, I do actually.

Since this was the first time Jin had a question for his parents, his mother nearlyknocked the pot handle over. His father tried to keep the stern look on his face, but he wasalso pleasantly surprised that Jin had something to say after a lecture. Usually, Jin wouldagree with them and life moved on for all of them. Jin was such a good kid after all.

ay I marry Fi?asked Jin at last with determination on his face.Both his parents gawked at him. They did not expect that out of him at all.

Unfortunately for Jin, Jezebelle just came down the stairs and entered the kitchen in herskimpy black nightgown. She was searching for something to eat from the refrigerator so shewas ignoring everyone else in the room. Jin blushed at the sight of her like this. His parentshad the same thoughts as to what happened over the weekend when they left the house toJin.

His mother gasped loudly. o, Jin would never do such a thing!Jezebelle took out a Slim Fast and watched Jin's father and mother pester him to tell

them what exactly happened between him and her. Finding this entertaining, Jezebellestarted drinking her Slim Fast and leaned against the refrigerator. Usually, she would leavethe room instead. At last, Jin went over and dragged Jezebelle to sit down next to him.

lease, accept us,said Jin, bowing his head.Jezebelle stopped drinking her Slim Fast and looked at the time. have to go

upstairs to straighten my hair so... nce she's eighteen,said Jin quickly. 'll marry her.

Jezebelle noticed the pale faces in front of her. She saw that Jin was tryingdesperately to remain calm. This wasn't a joke after all. Even though she had no idea whatwas going on, she knew that Jin was messing up again. She had better step in.

'm a virgin,said Jezebelle suddenly, gaining everyone's attention. Jin blinked at her.His parents were speechless at her declaration. However, Jezebelle acted perfectly normalas she got up from her seat. 'm out of here.

Once Jezebelle was out of the room, she could hear a lot of angry Korean words backin the kitchen. While she changed in her room, she thought about what actually happenedbetween her and Jin last night. Yesterday, Jin came home late and he entered her room to

check up on her. At the time, he did not think much of it. Soon enough, he realized that thiswas the worst mistake he could make.

On top of her bed, Jezebelle was reading a magazine, wearing only a black bra andpanties. She was so focused on the magazine that she didn't hear him come in through thefront door. Moreover, it was Shuijin who ran down the stairs to greet him so Jezebellereceived some warning ahead of time. There was no Shuijin last night.

Judging by the look on Jin's face, this was the first time he saw so little clothing on agirl aside from swimsuits. Jezebelle didn't care much whether he saw her in her lingeriesince he was her boyfriend. Actually, she was so confident in her body that she didn't care ifany boy saw her like this. For Jin though, he apologized and closed the door in a hurry.Afterwards, she had no idea what he did but he didn't bother her for the rest of the night.

e're going to school now, Fi!He seemed to have settled things with his parents. Hearing him loud and clear,

Jezebelle wore a pair of shoes and picked up her backpack when she noticed somethingpeculiar about her possessions. Suddenly, her eyes popped wide open. Jezebelle hurrieddown the stairs and grabbed him by the collar.

here's my hat?asked Jezebelle, annoyed. y pretty blue one!

in-chan borrowed it.Jezebelle scoffed it off and dropped Jin off. hatever. I'll get it back from herlater.Jezebelle paused and frowned. nd I'm not marrying you... ever.

ut Fi- o 'but Fi' me!said Jezebelle fiercely, picking her nose up. hy would I ever want to

marry a dork like you? How insulting. I'm not that desperate.Once Jezebelle was safely in the passenger's seat, Jin started up the engine and

checked his signals before he drove them to school. It was the usual for them to go toschool over an hour early since parking was a pain in the neck otherwise. Like always,Jezebelle checked her hair and face in the rear mirror. Jin didn't want to strike up the usualconversation with Jezebelle since he wanted to avoid her altogether. The voice in his head

was extremely happy that he caught her in lingerie yesterday. In other words, if the otherJin was delighted, there was something terribly wrong about all this.

After Jin parked his car, Jezebelle smoothly slipped out of the car and walked aheadof him. Jin followed her closely behind with his eyes on her hair. He didn't want to look ather behind instead. Since he refused to start a conversation, she didn't try either. Soonenough, Jin noticed six Asian girls walking behind with firm smiles on their faces. Since Jinwas quite used to his Geek Squad, he tossed them a smile and kept his attention onJezebelle.

At the light, Jezebelle was playing with her hair when a couple of boys Jin did notrecognize approached her. She gave them a bored look before she turned her eyes back tothe light. His first impulse was to protect her. However, his head told him that he didn't

need to."Hey Jez," said a dark-haired boy in front with a snarly look. "How does it feel to be

at the bottom again?"Again? Jin blinked. They knew her by name too. Jin didn't like his tone though. It was

anything but friendly."Thrilling," said Jezebelle, keeping her eyes on the light instead. She pursed her lips."The best part is the lower I start off, the sweeter it is once I reach the top."The stranger had a cruel look on his face now. "You should watch yourself, Jez.

Someone might kill you in your sleep."

Unaffected, Jezebelle fluttered her eyelashes and said, "I'll like to see them try.""Why you-""Since obviously someone doesn't have the guts to do it in broad daylight," added

Jezebelle with a shrug."Who says I don't have the guts?"Right before the boy could throw a punch at Jezebelle, she whirled her head and

gave him one piercing glare. He stopped his fist midway and retreated it, as if out of fearthat she would kill him with her eyes alone. A smirk traced her red lips."The one who punches first-" said Jezebelle, taking her first step at the change of

light. "-is the most insecure."Along with all the other Wilson High students around her, Jezebelle crossed the street

with no expression on her face. Jin frowned at her. What was that all about? Why was thatboy so confrontational at the sight of her face alone? Even though a lot of people dislikedJezebelle at school, no one dared to make those kinds of remarks to her face.At the other side of the street, a group of blonde girls watched Jezebelle with hatred. Jincould tell from the look on their faces alone. The minute Jezebelle was on the sidewalkonce more, they surrounded her with their hands on their hips. All the Wilson High students

nearby watched as the girls moved in closer to Jezebelle on all sides. They looked like theywere going to pounce her all at once."If it isn't Tilly," said one of them. "I thought you moved to Africa."Jezebelle shrugged. "I changed my mind.""Your appearance might change but you yourself haven't changed much.""Why thank you," said Jezebelle, tossing the girl a cute look. "I like myself very

much.""Bitch," said another girl. "You think you can step all over us and get away with it by

transferring to our rival school?""You're more of a coward than we thought."Tossing her hair backwards, Jezebelle said, "Let me guess. The whole team's fallen

apart without me.""As if. We're as strong as ever.""Words are cheap," said Jezebelle, checking her cell phone for the time."Watch," said the tallest girl in the group. "This Wednesday when we play, we'll

destroy your team.""That's not possible," said Jezebelle fearlessly. "Because I'm on this team.""Shut up bitch!""Remember," said Jezebelle, stopping the girl from attacking her. "If I hit you with the

tennis ball, it's mypoint. Be careful from now on, dears."This time, Jezebelle went in between two girls and got out of the circle easily. They

were so scared of her touch that they moved out of the way for Jezebelle to get through.

Jin bowed and apologized to them before he hurried after her. Where were these studentscoming from? Why did they all know Jezebelle?At last, Jezebelle stopped and glanced over at Jin, "If they bother me once we're

home, call Wendy for me.""Er... what?" asked Jin, confused."Remember when we first met?""Yes... I do."Jezebelle giggled darkly. "I said that there might be a couple of people who want to

murder me in my sleep. I wasn't exactly saying that to be funny. And there seems to be

more than just a 'couple'.""Who are they?" asked Jin, frowning."A bunch of bitter people," said Jezebelle, looking bored. "They finally found me. It

took them long enough.""What did you do to them?" asked Jin carefully."I bent their will... for a while."

"Fi," said Jin, shaking his head. "You shouldn't make so many enemies."Turning her head to him dramatically, Jezebelle had a puppy look on her face. "Butit's so much fun!"

*********************************************************During first period that day, a lot of people waited in anticipation at Jezebelle's

arrival. Jordan and Kristian were chatting across the table with each other about householdresponsibilities while Rin was busy cramming. In her head though, she was bothered by howcoldly Edwin treated her this morning. Usually, he took time to make fun of her and theywould fight about it. Today, he acted like she didn't exist. This made her sad. If she were tobreak up with Kristian or break up with another dear friend, would they be exactly howEdwin was now?

"What happen to your leg Cash?" asked Kristian immediately.Rin and Jordan turned their attention to the fourth member of their table. Theblonde boy was in crutches now with Wendy carrying his backpack by his side. He lookedpaler than usual. Even though Rin didn't know Cash that well, she was still interested inwhat happened to him. Wendy greeted her quickly in which Rin returned the gesture. It wasobvious that Wendy tried not to talk or look at Jordan.

"Long story," said Cash, sitting down and placing his crutches against the wall."Aren't you on the basketball team?" asked Kristian, glancing at Wendy once."Yeah," said Cash weakly, accepting his backpack from Wendy. "Varsity too.""Sucks," said Kristian, frowning. "When will it heal?""A month or more. The first game is coming in less than a month."

"We'll probably replacing with Zane," said Jordan in a tired tone.Cash shrugged. "He'll be fine.""Is Wendy your helper?" asked Kristian, nodding at the blonde girl."She is.""How strange," said Jordan loudly and disapprovingly. Rin blinked at him. Was this

jealousy? "I thought the helper needs to be in the same grade as the crippled student.""Only assigned helpers," said Cash in correction. "Wendy volunteered.""Wendy's in none of your classes," said Jordan hastily. "It's inconvenient for her.""I don't mind waiting for her to get to my classes," said Cash, giving Wendy a sweet

smile. "I have permission to get out of each class five minutes early. Wendy does as well. Itworks out for both of us."

Jordan frowned. "Parker's in a bunch of your classes and your friend. You should askhim instead.""Like I said," said Cash, annoyed at Jordan. "Wendy volunteered so she's my helper

now.""It's my fault," said Wendy at last, biting her lip. Everyone looked at her. "I am

responsible for what happened. I will make it up to Cash no matter what. That's my stance.""You can make it up some other way," said Jordan. "You don't have to be his slave for

a month. You shouldn't blame yourself for what happened either.""But I do," said Wendy softly, backing away from the table. "I'll be going for my first

period class now.""Thanks for your help," said Cash, waving after her. "See you later."Wendy gave him a weak smile. "Yes. See you."Waiting for Wendy to close the door behind her, Cash glared at Jordan. "What was

that for? It's none of your business what is going on with Wendy and I. You stay out of this.""Is Wendy your girlfriend or not?" asked Jordan immediately.

Cash was surprised. "Sort of...""She's not," said Jordan, knowing that hesitation in Cash's voice very well. "Stoptreating her like one. You already have a girlfriend elsewhere. Hell, you have several heretoo in secret. You don't think I know about them?" Cash looked at Jordan murderously."You're only interested in her because she's playing hard to get. You're only interested in herbecause she used to date me. Why don't you leave her alone?"

"Jordan," said Kristian, wrapping his arms. "If you are so set on protecting her, whydon't you ask her out yourself?" Rin widened her eyes at Kristian's suggestion. "Since you'renot her boyfriend either, you don't have any right to stop her from dating who she wants."

"Kristian!" cried Rin, upset. "Didn't you hear? Cash has several girlfriends!""Even so," said Kristian, looking at Rin sternly. "Who are we to interefere with Wendy's

personal life? We can only give her advice and support. It is up to her to make thecorrect decision for herself." Kristian shifted his eyes at the two boys from across the table."Neither of you can decide her life for her. Wendy is Wendy. Leave her be."

"Kristian," said Jordan, standing up."Yeah?""You're brilliant," said Jordan, suddenly showing off a gleaming smile."I know I am," said Kristian automatically. "What did I do this time?""I'll convince her to date me instead," said Jordan, satisfied. He sat back down

confidently. Cash was gaping at him now. "And this time, I'll make it up to her by treatingher right. That's what I'll do. Thanks for the suggestion, Kristian. You're brilliant."

Kristian nodded, still in awe. "Sure. No problem."

"I am so not getting myself involve in this high school drama any more," said Rin,grumbling to herself. There was something odd about people dating for reasons other thanlove to Rin. She couldn't wrap her head around it. "Do whatever you want Jordan."

Jordan gave her a puzzled look. "Thanks for your permission, Nerd?""You're very welcome," said Rin, returning her attention to the book in front of her. It

did not take long for her to elevate them when Jin and Jezebelle entered the room. erewe go again.

A bunch of students were bombarding Jezebelle with questions on how she handledthe Polytechnic students from Saturday. However, Jezebelle ignored them and went to herseat. Jin did the same. Once she sat down though, she smirked at everyone surrounding herand said something along the lines of how it was easy for her to win against those students.

Rin thought Jezebelle was being very vague, but for her admirers, it was enough. Besides,the bell was going to ring in less than a minute.*********************************************

At the end of first period, Parker West picked up his light backpack and headed outthe room after a quick goodbye to Abe. He went on his way to second period for a couple ofseconds before a dirty blond-haired girl bounced next to him and smiled brightly. Her namewas Lizzie and she was one of the soccer girls. It was a daily routine now for them to walkdown the hallway together since they had the same first and second period.

ou want to go to the mall this Friday?asked Lizzie boldly.

He was keeping an eye out for a certain girl. Right on schedule, he smiled brightly at Cindy,who was leaning against her locker with one of the boys from the Polo team. Cindy returned

his gesture but she quickly returned her attention to her chat. She was giggling and slappinghis chest. This bothered Parker because usually, she was by herself. He did not like to seeher with this older boy.

During nutrition, Parker was in a terrible mood because of that one scene he saw inpassing. Not only was Cindy dating Kirk, she was now chatting with this other popular boy?He went to his group who were busy with their respective things. Cash was in crutches nextto Zane. Both of them were eating fruits. Eddie was looking through the basketballschedule, as expected of team captain. Tristan wasn't here but Parker was certain he waswith Monika. As for Abe, he was eating a bag of potato chips.
