Congress (NPC)Highest legislative body in Government. Heavily influenced by the CPC, but becoming less dependent. Chairman of the NPC is also member of the CPC Politiburo.3000 delgates who meet annually for two weeks

• PolitburoMost senior committee of the CPC, consisting of 19-25 Members, meeting every month. Role of Politburo is to oversee the CPC. Members of the Politburo also hold positions in the Government. The Standing Committee of the Politburo comprises the senior leadership of the CPC and its members are the most influential people in thecountry.
