C.V .RAMAN FORUM ACTIVITIES

The present technology is embedded by science which reflects in new modern

world. We find science in everything. In every day of the year, in every moment

we are influenced by science. The mobile phone with all inbuilt technology helps

to see world’s happening just in one touch.

The study of Science has an educative influence on the mind, and is of far-reaching

importance. The inauguration of all science activities took place on October at

10am in the auditorium. Our honorable Principal Prof. K.S.Shivashankarappa and

chief guest of the day was Dr.Mahesh Kumar M C; Asst.Prof Govt. First Grade

College K.R.Puram presided over the function. The ceremony was presided by

Lighting of the lamp and followed by chief guest address. During his speech, Sir

highlighted the importance of Role of Mathematics in nature and special talk

about “The man who knew infinity” & “Is Maths boring”. The student

representative of each association formally took oath and the coordinators and the

student representative signed in a register. A video presentation on all the activities

of association for the academic year were screened much to the delight of the

students. Our deep gratitude to our Guests, Faculty, Support Staff and fellow

students who made this occasion a memorable.

SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2020

THEME “WOMEN IN SCIENCE”

The “National Science Day Celebration-2019”was conducted successfully on 5th

March 2020. The honorable Principal Prof. K.S. Shivashankarappa presided the

function. The Chief Guest for the program was our B.Sc., Students Shreyas,

Gayathri and Rakshitha. The function started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

This was followed by welcome address delivered by Prasanna Kumar, II

B.Sc.,highlighting the significance of celebrating the Science Day in

rememberance of Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman for receiving the noble

prize for discovery of Raman Effect. Our Provost has thrown light on the

significance of science day and the theme of this year’s science day “WOMEN IN

SCIENCE” and also the role of women in science and lighted the famous women

scientists. Our B.Sc., Students gave speech on women achievers in scientific field

for our present generation and motivated our students. Our Principal has

elaborated the role of students in the development and progression of research in

the field of science and to take up challenges at a higher level. Prof.Nalini Devi K,

Coordinator heighted the importance of women role in scientific field,

Dr.Shivaprakask Y, Dept. of Physics gave a special talk about “Science and

Superstition”

The Department of Science “SIR C V RAMAN FORUM”, which embodies the

essence “Science is everything”. The Students emerge with new interesting

experiments, models and new ideas to empower the technology used. All Science

students enthuastically participate in all the activities organized by the forum like

Quiz competition, Innovative Rangoli Competition, Share and Eat concept and

each student came out with new experiments, models, collage making, charts,

games like identify the scientific symbols, hand & leg game, mathetude.
