gang uf housebreakers have infested tbe Towns of East and West Maitland; His Excellency the Go* vernor directs it to be ncfilied, that a Reward of Twenty Pounds vrill be paid to any free person who may give such information as may lead to tbe ap- lireheotion and conviction of the guilty parties, ur if tbe person giving the said information be a Prisoner of the Crown, application will be made to Her hlsjesty for the allowance to such Prisoner uf the Crown uf 3 Conditional Pardon of the second class.

"WJ HEREAS it has been represented to tbe Tv Government, that the Dwelling House of

Thomas Bell, Esquire, J.P., at Braidwood, was, on the night of the ^nd instant, maliciously set on fire by some evil disposed person or persons unknown, aud totally consumed; His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified, that a Reward of Twenty Pounds will be paid to any free person or persons who may give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the guilty party or parties, and further, that if the per­son giving the aid information be a Prisoner of the Crown, application wilt be made to Her Majesty for tbe allowance of a First Class Conditional Pardon to such Prisoner of the Crown.

I will be put up aqiarately to Auction, for Sale on ' Lease or Licence for one year, commencing 1st August next, at tbe Colonial Treasury, Sydney, at Eleven o'clock, on Thursday, tbe 23rd day of July, namely:—

Lot 1.—Is irtimated to contain eighteen acres, and comprises two paddocks, fenced, with tbe old Stockade and the garden and yard attached thereto, and is situate on the north-western end of Grose Farm, but excludes the Police Station at the weMern extremity. Upset price £30.

Lot 2.—Estimated to contain twenty-two and a-half acres, comprises two paddocks fera^, and u situated on the south-west corner olthe farm. Upset price £15.

Lot 3.—Estimated to contain twenty-six and a-balf acres, comprises two paddocks fenced; ir is bounded by a fence dividing it from lots 2, 4, it 5. Upset price £18.

Lot 4.—Estimated to contain seventeen and a-half acres, in one paddock fenced ; it is bounded by tbe ParramaciB Road, and divided by a fence from lots 3, 5, Ec 6, and tbe road along tbe creek bounding lot 1 ; out of this lot will be reserved a road, ex­tending from a slip panel on the Parramatta Road to tbe creek near the Stockade. Upset price £10.

Lot 5.—Estimated to contain thirty-two acres, comprises two paddocks fenced; it is bounded by the Newtown Road, and by fences dividing it from lots 3, 4, & 6. Upset price £20.

Lot 6.—Contains forty-six acres, in one paddock fenced, and is situate at the junction of the Parramatta and Newtown Hoads, and is divided by fences frum loU 4 and 5 ; it excludes the Police Station at tbe eastern corner. Upset price £30.

Lot 7.—Estimated to contain eighteen acres, in two paddocks fenced ; it is situated between tbe old and new Newtown Roads. Lpaet price £t0.

Lot 8.—Estimated to cootaio six acres, in one paddock fenced; and is situate between the old and new Parramatu Roads; it includes the three roons and two and a-half perches fenced off at tbe western extremity. Upset price £5.

The purchasers will be required to pay down at tbe time of sale the amount of one half year's rent in advance, and before allowing possession of the lands or buildings, they must enter into an engagement, withlwoiureties, for thedue payment of tbe remainder of the rent on the 1st February, 1847, in default which, the land will be entend on by the Govmi- meut, and the Licence or Lease aimulied.

Tbe parties will be required to keep tbe fences and buildings (where any,) in re)«ir, and not to cat or injure any of tbe trees on the land, and to give security also to this effect.

Further particulars respecting tbe land can be obtained at tbe Office of the Surveyor General, where a plan of the paddocks can be seen, and respecting the conditions at tbe Colonial Treasury.
