Directorate of Industries invites applications from eligible candidates for filling up 145

posts of INDUSTRIES INSPECTOR (LOWER GRADE) / EXTENSION OFFICER

(INDUSTRIES), Group-C employees in the Directorate of Industries. The Industries

Inspectors (LG)/Extension Officer (Industries) are transferable in the State of Maharashtra.

2.1 The number of vacancies / category wise vacancies shown in the above table is

provisional and is subject to change without prior notice.

2.2 Reservation for physically challenged persons :-

As per Government Resolution Industry, Energy & Labour Department vide No.

IST-2006/CR7822/Udyog-3, dated 19th

January, 2011, blind low vision, one leg

affected, both leg affected, one arm affected, one arm & one leg affected and

hearing handicapped candidates are eligible for this post. As such, the candidates

who submit the certificate clearly mentioning such type of disability will only be

considered for the post.

2.3 The reservation specified for the DT-A, NT-B, NT-C and NT-D shall be inter-

transferable. If suitable candidates for the post reserved for DT-A, NT-B, NT-C and

NT-D are not available, the post shall be filled by suitable candidate from any of the

other categories amongst DT-A, NT-B, NT-C and NT-D in the same order and on

merit, as per prevailing Govt. orders.

2.4 There shall be 30% reservation for women (Only candidates domiciled in

Maharashtra and who do not belong to creamy layer category) in all social

categories as per the provision of Govt. of Maharashtra Resolution No.

82/2001/MSA-2000/CR 415/K-2, dated 25th

May, 2001. The women candidates

who desire to avail benefit of women reservation including candidates from open

category should submit latest/current year Non Creamy Layer Certificate from

the Competent Authority of Govt. of Maharashtra. Woman candidate shall submit

copy of Gazette along with application form in case of change in her name.

2.4 For claiming the benefit of sports/caste reservation, candidates should submit

attested copy of sports certificate, caste certificate, caste validity certificate (if

available) and certificate of domicile of Govt. of Maharashtra issued by the

competent authority of Govt. of Maharashtra. If candidate fails to submit the

caste certificate along with application, he/she will be treated from open

category.

3. PAY: Rs. 9300-34800/- + Grade pay 4200 /-.

4. Eligibility criteria:

4.1. A candidate must be a citizen of India and domicile of Maharashtra for last continuous

15 years.

4.2. The candidate should have adequate knowledge to understand, read, write and speak in

Marathi.

4.3. The candidate, if married, should have small family as defined under Maharashtra Civil

Services Rule, 2005, notification dated 28th

May, 2005. Candidate shall submit self

attested copy of the notarized affidavit to that effect, along with application.

4.4. As per the Government Resolution of General Administration Department of Govt. of

Maharashtra bearing No. MKC-1007/C.R.36/Desk 36, dated 10th July 2008, the candidates

having Marathi as their mother tongue and who are native of 865 villages on Maharashtra-

Karnataka border area, on which Govt. of Maharashtra has made a claim to be a part of

Maharashtra State are also entitled to apply for the post. However, they will have to submit

Domicile Certificate of the competent authority in prescribed format, to the effect that they are

domicile of one of these villages for the past 15 year.

4.5. Educational qualification:

4.5.1. Candidate must possess a degree in science or a diploma in chemical technology

or mechanical or electrical or chemical engineering or electronic or textile or

leather or automobile, metallurgy, telecommunication or radio Engineering of an

university / institute or any other qualification equivalent thereto, as recognized

by Government.

4.5.2. Preference is given to the candidates possessing a degree in engineering in any

subject mentioned in 4.5.1 above i.e. B.Sc. and diploma holders will be at par.

Degree holders and above will be rated higher as at 8.1.

4.6. Age limit:

4.6.1. Age: Not less than 18 years and not more than 33 years as on 1st July, 2013.

4.6.2. The age limit is relaxed in following cases:

4.6.2.1. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for the candidate belonging to

backward classes.

4.6.2.2. The condition of upper age limit is not applicable to the employees of

Government of Maharashtra.

4.6.2.3. In case of following candidates the upper age limit will be 45 years-

4.6.2.3.1. Physically challenged,

4.6.2.3.2. Physically challenged ex- servicemen,

4.6.2.3.3. Persons nominated as the project affected persons and freedom

fighters and Employees for conducting Census of year 1991 and

elections after 1994 refer to GR No. NWK-1010/PK-08/2010/16-

A dated 06.10.2010.

4.6.2.4. In case of following candidates the upper age limit is relaxable by 5

years

4.6.2.4.1. Wards of ex- servicemen,

4.6.2.4.2. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for the candidates applying

against sports quota in pursuance of G.R No. Rajya Krida

Dhoran-2002/No. 68/KRI.U.SE-2 dated 30.04.2005 issued by

Department of School Education and Sports, Govt. of

Maharashtra, subject to production of certificate showing that

they do not belong to “creamy layer” category issued by the

appropriate competent authority in case of extra-meritorious

sports person.

4.6.2.5. In case of ex-servicemen the upper age limit is relaxable by number of

qualifying service plus three years.

4.6.2.6. Age limit is relaxed up to 46 years in respect of educated unemployed

who have completed 3 years of part-time employment under the scheme

implemented by Employment and Self Employment Department, Govt.

of Maharashtra.

5. The prescribed educational qualifications are the minimum required qualification and a mere

possession of the minimum qualification does not entitle the candidate to be called for

interview.

6. Application Fee:

6.1. Open Category: Rs. 250 /-

6.2. Reserved category: Rs. 150 /-

6.3. Ex-servicemen: Nil.

6.4. Mode of payment: The candidates should pay the fee by means of "demand draft"

only. Demand draft should be drawn on any nationalized bank in the name of

“Development Commissioner, Directorate of Industries, Mumbai”, payable at

Mumbai.

6.5. Candidate should write his/her name on the back side of the demand draft.

6.6. Application once made shall not be allowed to be withdrawn and fee once paid shall

NOT be refunded under any circumstances nor can it be held in reserve for any other

future selection process.

7. Procedure for submission of Application Form:

7.1. Applicants shall download application form and admit card available on the

aforementioned websites and submit duly filled in applications to the respective District

Industries Centers according to the place of their residence as per the postal address

mentioned in their application forms.

7.2. The candidate shall attach copies of certificates and marks sheets of S.S.C., H.S.C.,

degree/diploma, etc., caste, non-creamy layer certificates, the certificates in respect of

special categories i.e. ex-servicemen, physically challenged, etc. duly attested by

gazette officer and demand draft in respect of application fee along with application

form.

7.3. The duly filled application form, admit card, and a set of documents at 7.2 above shall

be put in an envelope of good quality of appropriate size addressed to the concerned

General Manager, District Industries Centre and shall super scribe in bold letters as

“Application for the post of the INDUSTRIES INSPECTOR (LOWER GRADE) /

EXTENSION OFFICER (INDUSTRIES), Group-C” on it.

7.4. The aforesaid envelope shall be submitted by post or in person at District Industries

Centers of respective districts (As in ANNEXURE) in working hours on 04/03/2013 or

before 25/03/ 2013. Request for change/correction in any particulars in the application

form shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

7.5. Incomplete application form and application received after last date of submission of

application shall stand rejected.

8. Selection Procedure:

8.1. There shall be a written examination for 200 marks and interview for 20 marks

and 05 marks for preference to degree holders in engineering and post graduation

in science. Preferential degree marks will be as follows; (Out of 05 Marks)

a. 1 marks - Normal degree in science / diploma in engineering (see 4.5.1)

b. 1.5 marks-

i. Degree in engineering in chemical technology or mechanical

or electrical or chemical engineering or electronic or textile or

leather or automobile, metallurgy, telecommunication or radio

Engineering only.

ii. Post graduation in Science.

c. 2.5 marks-

i. Post Graduate Engineering degree in chemical technology or

mechanical or electrical or chemical engineering or electronic

or textile or leather or automobile, metallurgy,

telecommunication or radio Engineering only.

ii. Higher qualification than post graduation in science.

8.2. Application forms received by the General Managers, District Industries Centers

will be scrutinized and a list of candidates eligible for written examination along

with date of examination and details of examination centers, list of rejected

candidates with reasons for rejection, will be published on

www.maharashtra.gov.in; www.mced.biz and on websites of District

Collectors of Government of Maharashtra websites.

8.3. The admit card for the written examination will be sent by post on the postal

address given by the candidate. In case of non-receipt of admit card through post,

candidate can collect the duplicate admit card from District Industries Centers in

person one week before the examination.

8.4. Written examination will be of objective type for 200 marks comprising of

multiple choice questions and fill- in the blank questions of 100 marks each. The

syllabus for written examination will be of graduate level which will includes

questions on Marathi and English languages (10th

class level), science, technical,

logical reasoning and general knowledge.

8.5. The examination will be conducted at Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Pune,

Aurangabad, Amaravati, Nagpur and Nanded. The candidates will have to take /

attend examination at their own expense.

8.6. On the basis of the marks obtained in written examination, compartmentalized

(reservation category wise) merit list will be prepared and published on the

aforementioned websites.

8.7. The short listed candidates shall be called for interview at the Directorate of

Industries, Mumbai. The candidates shall bring the original documents which

were submitted by the candidate along with his / her application form for

verification. List of the candidates short listed for interview and schedule of

interview will be published on the aforementioned websites. The candidates who

do not produce original documents shall not be interviewed.

8.8. The candidates shall attend the interview at their own expense.

8.9. Verification of the original documents will be carried out before interview and

only eligible candidates shall be interviewed.

8.10. The final merit list on the basis of the marks of written examination and

interview will be published on the aforementioned websites.

8.11. Letters of selection will be issued to such meritorious candidates with a request

to complete the requisite formalities in respect of police inquiry report, medical

examination report, etc. within a stipulated time period.

8.12. Candidates selected can be posted anywhere in Maharashtra.

9. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the

eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished incorrect/false information/certificate/

documents or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature or tries to influence

any officer/ employee involved in the selection process or tries to use unlawful means in the

selection process his/her selection shall stand cancelled. If any of these shortcomings is/are

detected even after appointment, his/her services are liable for termination.
