Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir said the caste- related data, as enumerated in Socio Economic and Caste Census, has not yet been released. "The Government has decid- ed to constitute an expert group under the chairmanship of Arvind Panagariya, Vice-chair- man, NITI AAYOG to classify and categorise the caste names returned in SECC," he said replying to a written question by M. P. Veerendra Kumar. The expert group will be serviced by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. (PTI) Migrants’ concern over water scarcity in Jagti Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Aug 10: Various KP organizations have urged the Government to take immediate steps in restoration of water sup- ply to Jagti township where the people were facing acute shortage of drinking water. In a statement BJP senior leader Virender Kuchroo said that disruption in water supply added to woes of Jagti township inmates and demanded that immediate steps be taken to restore the water supply in the township. He also demanded that new water supply scheme be taken up in hand for the township as peo- ple often face water scarcity due to floods in river Tawi where from drinking water to the town- ship has been supplied. Expressing grave concern over water scarcity in Jagti town- ship Pinto Ji Chanam of Jagti Welfare Committee has made an appeal to Relief authorities to look into the matter and find out an everlasting solution to the problem. He said the people in the Jagti township have been made to suffer due to water scarcity as the authorities have failed to find its everlasting solution to it. He has also sought the inter- vention of Relief and Rehabilitation Minister into the matter. Samajwadi Party (SP) Migrant Cell president Inder Ji Labroo has also demanded that a new water supply scheme for the township be started on the war footing basis as the inmates of Jagti were facing acute water scarcity since the township came into being. Cabinet gives ex-post facto approval to changes in Lokpal Act NEW DELHI, Aug 10: The Cabinet today gave ex- post facto approval to a pro- posal to amend the Lokpal Act to exempt Central Government employees and NGOs executives from filing details of assets of their spous- es and children. Parliament had on July 28 passed a bill to amend the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013. A meeting of the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gave its ex-post facto approval for amendments to section 44 and consequential amendments to the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013 by introducing the Lokpal and Lokayuktas (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Parliament, a release issued by the Government said. "The approved amend- ments will address concerns and apprehensions expressed by different categories of pub- lic servants and addresses the difficulties being faced in implementing the provision of section 44 of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013. The amendments are in line with one of the recommendations of the standing committee," it said. As per old Lokpal rules, every public servant will file declaration, information and annual returns pertaining to his assets and liabilities, along with those of spouse and dependent children, as on March 31 every year on or before July 31 of that year. This was changed through the amendment bill to exempt spouse and children of public servants. The declarations under the Lokpal law are in addition to those filed by the employees under various service rules. The last date for filing such declarations has been extend- ed till December 31, 2016. (PTI) Florence Apartment Housing Society seeks action against Ansal Buildwell Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Aug 10: Florence Apartment Housing Society, Trikuta Nagar has sought help of Government including Police and Crime Branch to initiate action against M/s Ansal Buildwell for duping 72 citizens of their hard earned money. Addressing a press confer- ence, members of the Florence Apartment Housing Society, Trikuta Nagar said that M/s Ansal Buildwell headed by Gopal Ansal and his associates viz Rajeev Kalia, Rajeev Chawla, Chetan Gupta and Vishal Sahgal had signed an agreement with Kulbushan Gupta, land owner and business- men of Jammu to construct and sell multi-story flats for Jammuites. The terms and condition of the agreement were neither made to public or not to the flat buyers, but it was informed to the buyers by the sale manager that all the powers were vested to ABL starting from advertisement, booking, construction and deliv- ering of possession including registration of the flats, they said, adding that the price of the flats were also fixed by ABL. “The buyers booked the flats after paying the fixed price against each flat—2 BHK and 3- BHK respectively. In the allot- ment letter it was mentioned that the cost of the flat is to be deposited in the name of Kulbhushan Gupta on the account of Florence Apartment. It was promised that flats will be completed within specified peri- od”, they added. After collecting 20 to 25 crores of rupees from buyers, the company instead of completing the project had utilized the money in increasing their busi- ness elsewhere and project was delayed for 7 to 8 years leaving the buyers in waiting till today, they said, adding that although the construction of structure is now complete but deficiencies amounting Rs 3 crores are still pending and possession so prom- ised has not been given to respective buyers. They urged the Government including Police and Crime Branch to for disciplinary action against the erring builder and his associates and put them behind the bars for providing justice to the buyers, who need immediate shelter. The workshop was conduct- ed by Dr Sangeeta Saksena, Founder of Enfold Trust, Bengaluru and co-author of the series on life skills called "On Track" prescribed by the School for the students from grade 3 to 8. The workshop was aimed at training teachers to use the on track series and life skills manu- al to bring about a positive shift in the attitude and behavior of the students. While speaking, Dr Saksena elaborated on how these books can be effectively used to address many issues faced by adolescents and develop life skills among students. She enlightened teachers on how the parent manual which was a part of the series can be used to guide their children. Govt sets up expert committee on caste census

An expert committee hasbeen set up by the Governmentto classify and categorise thecaste names mentioned in SocioEconomic and Caste Census(SECC), Rajya Sabha wasinformed today.

Migrants’ concern over water scarcity in JagtiExcelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Aug 10: Various KPorganizations have urged theGovernment to take immediatesteps in restoration of water sup-ply to Jagti township where thepeople were facing acute shortageof drinking water.

In a statement BJP seniorleader Virender Kuchroo said thatdisruption in water supply addedto woes of Jagti township inmatesand demanded that immediatesteps be taken to restore the watersupply in the township.

He also demanded that newwater supply scheme be taken upin hand for the township as peo-ple often face water scarcity dueto floods in river Tawi wherefrom drinking water to the town-ship has been supplied.

Expressing grave concern

The Cabinet today gave ex-post facto approval to a pro-posal to amend the Lokpal Actto exempt CentralGovernment employees andNGOs executives from filingdetails of assets of their spous-es and children.

Parliament had on July 28passed a bill to amend theLokpal and Lokayuktas Act,2013.

A meeting of the UnionCabinet, chaired by PrimeMinister Narendra Modi, gaveits ex-post facto approval foramendments to section 44 andconsequential amendments tothe Lokpal and LokayuktasAct, 2013 by introducing theLokpal and Lokayuktas(Amendment) Bill, 2016 inParliament, a release issued bythe Government said.
