Greetings Pony Lovers,

The 2012 Pony season has now officially started.

Our Spring Brunch Tour on May 6th was a notable

success. Nearly 25 Ponies and antique cars lined

up along the “canal” in Saltsburg, creating quite a

sight. The food at the Olde Salt Restaurant was

superb, and the museum tour and winery stop

were enjoyed by all. Please let Dwight or me

know if you have any ideas for a tour you’d like

to organize.

Our All Ford-Powered Show will be here before

we know it, so let Ed know if you can volunteer to

work that day. To make it easier for Mary, please

register your car BEFORE the show. Cheryl is

still looking for more baskets for the basket raffle.

We’ve received the Can-Am registration form

from LEMOC. Some GPMC members have al-

ready made reservations at the two host hotels.

The Rodeway Inn is by far the best deal, with one

of our members getting a rate of only $43.95/

night. A group of us are staying at the Holiday

Inn Express even though it costs more, as it looks

to be in a quieter location. HI Express also has a

very liberal cancellation policy, so if you’re think-

ing about going, make your reservation now.

More details about making reservations, and a

copy of the reservation form, are located in this

newsletter and on the members-only page of our

website.

The Wexford Starlite Car Cruise is definitely a

Go for this year. The folks from Northway Chris-

tian Community Church were out in force at their

April 26th kickoff meeting. They’re planning on a

complete season this year, while the long-term

future with Highmark as their new neighbor is

still to be seen. The night of their first cruise is

May 25th, Mustang night will be on June 22nd and

our volunteer night is July 27th. As I write, the

forecast for the May 16th kick off night for the

Ultimate Cruise at Pittsburgh Mills Mall is look-

ing good.

Our membership continues to grow, as we added

another new member at the Brunch Tour last

weekend. Let’s try to keep up this momentum

going into the summer months.

Our May meeting produced another great turnout.

Don’t forget - the June 6th meeting will be at the

Roosevelt Grove in North Park. For those new

members who’ve never been there, directions are

available on the Meetings Page of our website.

Dwight has offered to grill hotdogs – so bring

along your favorite beverage (no alcohol) and a

side dish or dessert to share and we’ll have a mini

-picnic!

Keep those motors runnin’,

Spring Brunch Tour to Saltsburgh

The Spring Brunch Tour to Saltsburg was very well attended. By the time we

reached Raspberry Acres Winery there were 45 attendees and nearly 25 cars. In ad-

dition to several guests, a few members from the North Hills Historic Auto Club

joined us for a beautiful, sunny day. As we departed the Waterworks Mall we took a

scenic drive to Saltsburg, where we had a scrumptious Sunday brunch at the Olde

Salt Restaurant. The Rebecca Hadden Stone Museum was opened just for us, as we

explored what life was like in the 1830s. From there we drove to Raspberry Acres

Winery for a wine tasting. A few hardy souls made an ice cream stop on the way

home. All in all, it was a picture perfect day.
