7HABITS AT HOME
The Parktone Community has learnt a lot about the 7 Habits and we are learning how to apply these habits at school and in our daily lives. The ideas included here are to help your family use these habits at home.
Encourage win-win solutions to sibling dis-putes. Don’t always be the mediator; let them workout a solution and be sure to be lavish children with praise when they do.
Congratulations to our Stars of the Week!
4A—PramathTrevedi For showing a thoughtful and proactive attitude
towards his classmates this week. What a true su-perstar you are!
4M—Jemma M For an extremely well-written and edited Dream-
time Story! Jemma's talent and efforts amaze me! Well done, Jemma!
4G — Daniel Kaman For working hard in all areas this week, particularly
with his Dreamtime Narrative and for being a helpful and energetic member of our class. Thank you Dan!
This week in Grade 4

of the past 4 weeks of hard work on Dreamtime

with home made damper around a campfire on the

Mathematics This week will see students begin
assessment in the domains of Measurement & Ge-
ometry, Statistics & Probability, and Number & Al-
gebra.
Inquiry This week students will Synergise with a
small group as they prepare to present their Explor-
ers projects.

Colouring and Drawing Club
During lunch time there is a new tub that
children can use to draw and colour pic-
tures.
It is set up near the grade 2 portables, un-
der a shady tree and encourages anyone who would like to draw,
colour and make new friends. It is all about having fun! The grade
two children look forward to any student who would like to join in
and be a lunch time artist.
Sun Smart
A reminder to bring hats to school this term. Thank you!
Did you know that strawberries come from a plant called ‘fragaria’.Strawberries are edible (and rather tasty) but techni-cally they are receptacles (the thickened part of a stem) rather than berries. Mak-ing things even more confusing, the little hard pieces that appear to be seeds on a strawberry are actually a type of dry fruit (called achene)....that contain their own seeds! Strawberries have lots of vitamin C. Unlike some other fruits, they don’t continue to ripen after being picked.
