My home town of Gradiska was known during the Roman Empire as Servitium

One of the most important cultural heritage sites are remains of the stilt house settlements

They are located in the village Donja Dolina near Gradiska

Page 3: Gradiska and it’s wider area

They are discovered during the Austro-Hungerian ocupation 1898.

On location spanding 1590m2 12 houses were found- dating back to the bronze age

Here are some photos from a book V.Curcic,,Narodno ribarstvo u Bosni i Herzegovini “Sarajevo 1910

It has a status of a national monument

The artefacts discovered there are now located in National Museum in Sarajevo

Unfortunately that site is now being neglected because of the floodings of river Sava

The next topic will be the festive event ,, Annual Rogolji wheat harvest ceremony”

During that festivity, folk ensambles and clubs gather , wearing traditional garments

One of the most recognisable clothing item are knitted woolen socks with distinctive color pattern (red rose and green leaves)

The harvest is done by hand using scythe or a sickle

The manifestation was opened last year by our president MR Milorad Dodik

After the harvest singing ensambles sing folk songs from Lijevce polje area that are authentic in Bosnia
