Ran day to day operations building the business from three lawns on the block to 34 weekly lawns and various landscape projects from weeding and mulching to designing and coordinating full installations.Expanded weekly lawn service into four surrounding cities and landscaping thoughout the metro Detroit area with at times four employees.

SITEArchitecture is a contextually driven practice. Whether it is the demographics of users, landscape and topography, infrastructure, height restrictions, or numerous other conditions that can affect the configuration and overall form of a building. While there are always ideal conditions to a project, the final structure must take into account a number of outside factors beyond the architects control. These factors can be either ignored, embraced and/or manipulated in the design process. In the end, the site is where we decide to place a design to be built, displayed, and shared with those who interact with it.

Logan Square High, located in Chicago, IL looks to mitigate between its site, paths of circulation, massing, and the issues of BIGNESS in an area of a city surrounded by multi-story townhouses.
Beginning with precedent studies using aggregation as tools for spatial creating, The form takes shape around the site, making use of site lines to break up the BIGNESS of the site allowing a large scale building to fit in with the low rise residential and commercial buildings.
Folling massing studies, the idea of “stuffing the turkery” was used in situating program within the form. The addition of program continued to shape the form of Logan Square High to allow for the needed functions of an inner city high school.

FORMForm making can rely on an exhaustive process of sketching, modeling, analyzing and then cycle back again. Sometimes these iterations change due to program or spatial needs, other times just out of intuitive design sense. There is no hard and fast approach to the form making process, making it one of the more difficult ways of approaching a project. However, through the many tests, a final construct is created.

MATERIALIn the end, a final construction is dealt with through the use of different materials. While traditional construction methods primarily use wood, steel, and concrete, the investigation of new uses of these and other materials is important in advancing the profession. Creating new forms, using existing or new materials and processes and discovering new structures through iterations. We express our ideas through the materials we use, and experimenting can allow for new forms of expression to emerge.
