I extend the warmest of holiday greetings to all and hope your holidays are filled with family, friends, laughter, good health and safe travels/celebrations. I was, again, the Wrecking Chef for a veteran joining our ranks making our Voiture’s membership 100% for the 14th straight year. I hope all of you are working as hard as we do in maintaining or growing our ranks. The below Special Awards Sous/Judges are available to help answer your questions whenever help is need-ed so please call for their assistance. I hope your Thanksgiving was spent with family

and friends. La Societe is Thankful for the 99

years of service as we look forward to celebrat-

ing our 100th Birthday. In November my Voiture

Locale voted to hold a dinner as part of our

100th Birthday Celebration. Our chairman has

invited four other veterans organizations to join

us for this dinner celebration. We are looking

forward to an evening with veterans and veter-

an families. Mid Winter Promenades are sched-

uled for the next coming months. Please remind

your Voiture Locales about celebrating our

100th Birthday on or around March 15, 2020.

The official Ritual of Celebration for the Birthday

of La Societe in in the Blue Ritual & Manual of

Ceremonies or can be found on the 40 et 8

website under Programs then Ritual. As a re-

minder, on pages 75 to 78 in the Blue Ritual &

Manual of Ceremonies are the French Defini-

tions and Phonetic Pronunciations. A review

of our French words and titles may be helpful. If

the Grand Directeur’s Ritual are saying our

French words correctly, Voyageurs will follow.

Wishing you and your families a Merry Christ-

mas & a Happy and Safe New Year. In Service

to La Societe

HISTORIANS AWARD

Grand Historian Dale Mitchell received his 2018 1st Place

National Historians award (finally) which was presented to him

at the Jefferson County November Promenade.

He is pictured with Grand Commis Voyageur Dave Behling,

Grande Chef Passe 2016 Ken Kozubek, Dale and Past Grand

Chef 2006 and Grand Avocat Dave Wegener who came to the

Promenade to speak on the importance of having a Locale set

of Bylaws.

More questions have been coming in concerning the Grande Voiture

flag. “NO” I have not ordered a new one. Not without the approval

from the Grande. $3,500.00 is not something to sneeze at and after all

of the grumbling on getting a new one these last few years; it needs to

be officially voted on at Midwinter before we do anything about it.
