Junior Round Up U9 Maroon Win Tough

It was tough game this week for the U9 Maroon side against a Burnside Red team with a couple of

older players in it. Burnside Red won 3-2 last time they met which was on turf, this time our youngsters

ended with their noses in front at home on grass. The team is working on getting the ball wide and

having one person on the ball at a time. They showed wonderful persistence, tackling back and passing.

It was a well-deserved Razzle!

The U15 Girls had a tough match against Forestville this week. They were missing Anni and Marni but

were lucky enough to have Lily Perkins and Holly Burton. Both girls have filled in before and did a great

job. There were many opportunities and some near misses but the game finished up 0-1 for the first

loss of the season. The girls are looking forward to stepping up their game next week when they take

on top of the table Adelaide Red.

The U9 White team have improved out of sight since the start of the season. Though the results may

not show it, our players are a lot more confident and readily try new ideas and skills. This week Thomas

and Conner scored their two goals. Harper put in a number of good tackles to win the ball and dribbled

down the sidelines to give the team many chances, while her little sister Charlize showed that being

younger didn't stop her from tackling just as hard. But the star of the weekend was little Eloise

Ginman with her goalie chant "grr, I'm the goalie and I let no goals through" which made all adults that

heard it double over in laughter.
