Evangelism and Missions, Brian StewartGUEST SPEAKER FROM EGYPT ON JUNE 26

Colby Mikhail, who grew up in Anderson, SC, will be sharing her experience of living in Egypt during the recent revolution there. Her husband, Wageeh, is a professor at the Evangelical Seminary in Cairo. Come listen to a first-hand account, and learn how we can pray specifically for the people in Egypt and the Middle East, on Sunday, June 26, 9:40am and 11:00am in Harper Chapel.

Sunday, May 15, was the official launch of Grains of Grace – our October 2011 churchwide project to prepare 100,000 life-saving meals for starving children in the developing world. Due to your over-whelming response, we are almost at capacity for volunteers to participate. We asked Feed My Starv-ing Children to add 120 new time slots to our origi-nal 500. This increases the number of meals we’ll be preparing to 125,000! If you tried to sign up online and could not find an available time, please try again—there are currently 75 open time slots, which we need to fill this month. Click banner two on our website (FirstPresGreenville.org) to sign up.

NAMI WALK THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 18The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) invites you to NAMI Greenville’s Walk on Saturday, June 18, at Fluor Field. Check-in is at 3:00pm and the Walk starts at 4:00pm. “NAMI Walks” increases awareness of mental health issues and raises funds for the many programs of NAMI Greenville, one of which is a support group that meets at FPC. To sign up to walk in this event or to make a tax deductible donation online, visit namigreenvillesc.org.

PRAYER REqUEST LINESPrayer Requests: 672.1838

Prayer Appointments: 672.1848Congregational Care Assistant Tammy Burkhalter: 672.0327

Loss of agriculture, mining, timber, and manufacturing jobs has left much of Appalachia poverty-stricken, severely lagging behind the rest of the nation.

This trip will expose our students to inner city missions away from home on a large scale. They will connect with the local residents in the area by encouraging them and giving them a sense of hope in their impoverished circumstances. Students will have the opportunity to share God’s love through activities such as children’s ministry, door-to-door evangelism, service in local nursing homes, prayer walks, and basic home repair projects.

Please pray for our students as they minister to the needs of these friendly, yet hurting people. Pray, too, that students will look for ways to serve locally on a more frequent and regular basis on their return.
