PRESIDENT’S BOWLS REPORT FOR LADIES
The ladies club has been busy this month. The Turramurra Trophy was hosted at the beginning of the month
with many visiting bowlers attending. Many of whom commented on how lovely our club is looking. The
overall winners were Asquith with three teams finishing on equal second with a count back needed. They
were Turramurra, Belrose and Mosman, Belrose came second on the count back.
The District triples saw one Turramurra team entered, alas being beaten. Our club pairs competition was
completed with the final between Susie Butler and Jeanette Browne against Helen Stromsmoe and Bridget
Nelson who came out winners in the final, well done girls.
The Regional Championship play offs was hosted by Mona Vale with our Turramurra Fours team of Jan
Martin, Marilyn Brenner, Jenny Wallis and Sue Hamilton up against a very strong Harbord team who
defeated us in a very tight game. Marilyn flew back from up near Bundaberg for the game and Jenny flew
out to Hong Kong the day after so timing of the game was critical.
The annual Jean McKinnon Shield between Region 15 and 16 will be held at St Ives Club on Monday 30th
July, we have Jan Martin, Bridget Nelson and Sue Hamilton representing Turramurra.
A date for your diary is Friend’s Day which will be Tuesday 4th September, this was omitted from our
program so please make a note of the date and invite any bowling friends you have to join us for a game.
We are joining with two of our members who are celebrating special birthdays Gunn Tholo and Dorothy
McDermott both turning a youthful 90. Happy Birthday ladies.
Even though we have a cold winter numbers at Tuesday social bowls remain strong. A reminder that
Thursday bowls starts at 9.30am for a short game and everyone is welcome for a game on Fridays and
Saturdays.
Good bowling to all Sue Hamilton President

Can’t beat this Aussie humour!!
Two blokes living in the Australian outback saw a couple of jobs advertised by the Queen of England. She was looking for footmen, to walk beside her carriage. They applied and were very happy to be flown to London for an interview with Her Majesty. She says to them: “Because my footmen must wear long white stockings, I must see your ankles to be sure they are not swollen or misshapen." After they show her their ankles, the Queen says: “It is also important that you don’t have knobby knees, so I need to see your knees too.” Once she has seen their knees, she says: “Now everything appears to be in shape, so I just need to see your testimonials.” Nine years later, when the pair are finally released from prison, one of the blokes says to the other: ”I reckon, if we just had a bit more education we would have got that job!"

July 2018
Dear Eva,
We were thrilled to be named the third most trusted brand in Australia in recent Roy Morgan research. The knowledge that our hard
work and commitment to our customers is valued by Australians gives the staff and management at Turramurra and Lindfield Community
Bank branches a great sense of pride. Read more about research results here.
This month we also had the great pleasure of sponsoring the Marion Street Theatre for Young People's latest production - Pearlie In
the Park. Having attended the opening performance on the 7th of July, we were very impressed by the high quality theatre production, not
to mention the hilarious script which is based on Wendy Harmer's book by the same name.
We've also recently welcomed some new faces to our team with Seb, Rachel and Ibrahim all joining the local community banking team. We
wish them the very best in their new roles. Get to know them a bit better in our interview with them. Link below.
Finally – If you haven't already done so, check out our new online Community Hub - where you'll find information about all of the local
charity and community groups in our area. Share the link with friends!
Best,
Dean

It's been a momentous month for Marion Street Theatre - Along with the successful performances of Pearlie in the Park -
an announcement was made at the end of June, that Ku-ring-gai council had voted in favour of saving the Marion Street Theatre and
agreed to support a multi-million dollar re-build of a new Marian Street Theatre culture centre. Read More.
New faces in the branch - Come in and say Hi!
We’re pleased to welcome three new members to the TLCBB team – Seb, Rachel and Ibrahim. Rachel has been with Bendigo for some

Medicare, Part G for The Elderly Say you are an older senior citizen and can no longer take care of yourself and the government says there is no
Nursing Home care available for you.
So, what do you do? You opt for “Medicare Plan G.” That’s what you do! This plan gives anyone 75 or older a gun
(Plan G) and one bullet. You are allowed to shoot one worthless politician. This means you will be sent to prison for
the rest of your life where you will receive three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating and air
conditioning, cable TV, a library, and all the Health Care you need. Need new teeth? No problem. Need glasses?
That's great. Need a hearing aid, new hip, knees, kidney, lungs, sex change, or heart? They are all covered!
As an added bonus, your kids can come and visit you at least as often as they do now! And, who will be paying for all
of this? The same government that just told you they can't afford for you to go into a nursing home.
And you will get rid of a useless politician while you are at it. And now, because you are a prisoner, you don't have to
pay any more income taxes!
Is this a great country or what?
Now that I've solved your senior financial plan for you, enjoy the rest of your week ... (works only in the USA)
