Thursday 14th JuneSPENCERS GARDENRoute B ONLY £25 Adult, £24 SeniorChances are you have never heard of this little patch of paradise but, after visiting you’re bound to be glad you did! One of Essex’s best-kept secrets, Spencers Garden is truly a delight! We make a later start and pass through some beautiful scenery on the way to this traditional country estate which was home to Princess Diana’s ancestors and was once home to British statesman ‘Rab’ Butler. On arrival the head gardener will offer a short talk about the house and gardens after which you will be free to wander around the gardens at your leisure. Admission also includes a cream tea. After visiting Spencers Gardens we will be coming home via a scenic route through some chocolate-box Essex villages. Please note: The house at Spencers Garden is not open to the public.

Thursday Day 3: This morning, you will have time to either enjoy the hotel facilities or get to know the local area. In the afternoon you will be picked up and taken to the Pomme D’or Hotel for afternoon tea. The Pomme d’or Hotel played an important part of the German Occupation as it was turned into the German Naval Headquarters and German Harbour Masters office during this time.

Friday Day 4: After breakfast you will have a full day excursion with a World War II guide, which includes the Jersey War Tunnels and a guided Coastal Foraging Tour. The Jersey War tunnels were dug deep into the hillside by slave workers from nations across Europe, the extraordinary tunnels run over 1km in length and were originally intended to be a barracks and ammunition store for the occupying forces. Today they tell the story of the Occupation, looking at how all sides coped under such extreme conditions and examining the daily dilemmas that were faced by island residents and the authorities, whether Jersey, British or German.

Saturday Day 5: Another relaxing day at the hotel or perhaps explore the shops for some duty-free shopping. This evening we enjoy a ‘Bunkers at Night’ guided tour, where you will visit sites not open to the public.

Sunday Day 6: After breakfast and a leisurely morning, we make our way back to the port for the ferry crossing back to Poole. On arrival in Poole our coach will be waiting to transfer you back home.

Wednesday – Day 4: Our journey today takes us to Killybegs, where we will show you the largest fishing port in Ireland. We then continue our journey west to Glencolumbkille and enjoy a visit and tour of the Folk Village Museum, a cluster of small cottages, each a replica from the 18th, 19th and 20th Centuries. We then return to Donegal town in the afternoon, for free time to explore.

Thursday – Day 5: This morning we make our way to Belleek. A factory tour is reserved for you and you will see how the world-famous Parian china is made. From here we continue via Drumcliff, the final resting place of the poet W. B. Yeats, to visit Lissadel House and Gardens. After a lunchtime visit in Sligo town, we travel to Lough Gill to enjoy a boat cruise where you will view the Isle of Innisfree, made famous by Yeats.

Friday – Day 6: Today, we leave County Donegal and move to the eastern side of the country. Here we visit the Wicklow Mountains National Park, driving through the Wicklow Gap and visiting Glendalough and Avoca – the film set for Ballykissangel. We spend our final night at the Talbot Hotel Stillorgan, close to Dublin.

All seats must be pre-booked and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Early booking is recommended to guarantee your seats.

Monies are to be paid in full at time of booking. Payment is by debit/credit card or cheque. Cheques to be made payable to ‘Klarners Tours’. If payment is made by cheque, seats will be provisionally booked until the cheque has cleared. Cheques must be received within five working days of the booking or the seats will be released.

We will make every effort to carry out the itineraries as described, but cannot be held responsible for any changes made by the destination venue. We do reserve the right to cancel any excursion or alter routes, timings or stopping places without prior notice. Subject to passenger numbers, we reserve the right to send a lower seat capacity luxury vehicle which could result in a change of your seat number.

Smoking, vaping and hot food are not permitted on the coaches at any time. Seat Belts must be worn. The use of mobile phones should be restricted to calls of an urgent nature and should remain on silent so as not to disturb fellow passengers.

Passengers are requested to adhere to the departure times given by the driver in order to comply with regulations governing driver’s hours. No refunds will be given to anyone arriving late and therefore missing the coach.

Journey times to destinations are given as estimations only and cannot be guaranteed due to traffic restrictions, delays, breakdowns etc. The company will not be held liable for loss or inconvenience caused by breakdown, other delay or any other cause.

The company will not accept liability for any damage to or loss of property belonging to any passenger left in a vehicle.

Valid passports are essential for all continental excursions. Citizens of non-EU countries should ensure they have the necessary documentation to enter all countries being visited.
