Srinagar, June 27: Glow-ing tributes were paid to Harzat Ali (AS) with sever-al processions and Majalis being held across the Valley on Monday as party of the Youm-e-Ali (AS) on his mar-tyrdom anniversary.

The functions were orga-nized by J&K Itihad-ul-Muslimeen, J&K Anjuman-e-Sharian Shian, J&K Shia Association and other reli-gious organizations.

Majalis were organized by J&K S h i a Associa-tion at I m a m Bargah Z a d i a -bal and I m a m Bargah Ahmad-

pora. J&K Shia Associa-tion Chief Patron, Moulana Imran Raza Ansari threw light on the life of Hazrat Ali (AS) and later Ansari took out a procession from Imam Bargah Zadibal which passed through Gaziyar and culminated at the shrine of Grand Mulla Fazal Ali Anasri (RA) at Gulshan Zehra Baba Mazar here.

CM’s statement ridiculous: TeM Srinagar, June 27: Tehreek- e- Muzahamat (TeM) spokes-man Shabir Ahmad Zargar today termed as ‘ridiculous’ the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement that the Pampore type attack was against the norms of Islam and humanity.

“Before issuing sermons and decrees mainstream politicians should realise that their hands are smeared with blood of innocents. We have every right and reason to strive for freedom and as an oppressed nation we

cannot be stopped from fighting those who are shedding our blood,” Shabir Zargar said in a statement. “Before passing any remark or issuing decree they should answer how forces kill innocents under the grab of AFSPA. It is strange that those involved in Kunan Poshapora mass rape, arson, loot and plunder are let free and the reaction from sufferers who defend their rights and fight against tyranny is termed as over-reaction.”

Army holds Clean Kashmir, Green Kashmir drive Srinagar, June 27: Army on Monday said that in continuation with the ' Clean Kashmir, Green Kashmir' mis-sion and to ensure an ecological balance in Kashmir, Army under the aegis of Chinar Corps, after undertak-ing cleanliness and plantation drive in Baltal launched a similar campaign in Pahalgam and Nehru Park, Srinagar.

In a statement here an Army spokesman said, “The afforestation drive commenced on June 21, 2016 with more than 200 students planting approx 2000 saplings in Chandan-wari and Nehru Park, Srinagar and it culminated today, under the steward-

ship of Forest Minister Chaudary Lal Singh in the presence of senior Army officials and prominent civil dignitar-ies in AGPS, Pahalgam.”

He said, “The event witnessed the participation of over 5000 people who overwhelmingly participated in the afforestation drive. The weeklong event captured the imagination of school children through Clean Kashmir, Green Kashmir, a painting competition accentuating the greenery and cleanli-ness in the region. Around 200 School Children from seven different Schools participated in this weeklong event to make it a grand success.”
