GreatLIFEGolf&FitnessentersintopartnershipwithTopekaYMCATopeka,Ks.–BeginningonOctober29,2018,GreatLIFEGolf&FitnesswillownandoperatetheTopekaYMCADowntownandNorthbranches.TheYMCAofTopekaBoardofDirectorsapprovedtheproposalinaunanimousvoteonTuesday,July31,2018.YMCAadministrativeofficeswillmovetotheYMCASouthwestbranchandthisbranchwilloperateasheadquartersfortheYMCAgoingforward.AllcurrentYMCAchildcareservicesandlocationswillremainthesame.TheYMCAwillcontinuetoofferprogramsandservicesinover10areaschoolsandwillcontinuetoprovideservicestoseniors,youthintheTopekacommunityandsurroundingareas.“WearelookingforwardtoworkingwithJohnMuglerandallthoseassociatedwiththeYMCAofTopeka.GreatLIFEhasbeenpartofsuccessfulpartnershipslikethisoneintheSiouxFallsmarketaswellaslocallywiththeYWCA.ThisnewagreementwillexpandtheamenitiesthatGreatLIFEhastoofferforbothYMCAmembersaswellasGreatLIFEmembers.”saidRickFarrant,PresidentandOwnerofGreatLIFEGolf&Fitness.BothYMCAbrancheswillbeopenandoperatingformemberswithnodisruptioninservice.GreatLIFEplanstotransformthedowntownbranchintoaPerformanceCenterofferingstateoftheartfitnessequipment,groupexerciseclasses,boxing,crosstraining,yogaclasses,cyclingclassesandmore!TheYMCANorthbranchwillbetransformedintoGreatPLAYandwillincludeanindoortrampolinepark,indoorlasertag,paintball,arcadegames,junglegym,outdoorbasketball,Footgolf,Discgolf,outdoorbicycling,obstaclecourse,fitnesscenter,swimmingpool,lockerroomsandapartyroom.TheTopekaYMCAhasalonghistoryofservicetotheTopekaCommunityandsurroundingareas.Thisservicewillcontinue.Itis important that theYMCAandGreatLIFE continue to adapt to the changingmarket. Whatwill not change is theYMCA’scommitmenttoChristianprinciples,youthsports,seniorcare,healthylivingandsocialresponsibility.ThesesameprinciplesaresharedbytheownersofGreatLIFE.Boththedowntownbranchandthenorthbranchwillcontinuetoprovidesupportforthevariousprograms&servicestheYMCAoffers.Currentmembersof theDowntownandNorthYMCAbrancheswill becomemembersofGreatLIFEGolf&FitnesseffectiveNovember1,2018andwillhavetheaddedvalueofaGreatLIFEfitnessmembershipatallTopekalocations.
