800 campuses in the United States and Canada; and approximately 350,000 undergraduate

Established in 1998 The National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC) is an umbrella

council for a coalition of Multicultural Greek-letter organizations (MGLOs).

Texas State has 8 organizations represented on this council.

Panhellenic Sorority Membership Recruitment

(Structured Program September 5th – 8th)

Open Houses to meet all of the sororities and learn about what

makes each group special

Sorority Bids are given out on September 9th

Continuous Open Recruitment (COR) Process

IFC Fraternity Membership Recruitment (365 Recruitment)

IFC Sponsored events to meet the men & to learn specific

information about each fraternity

Fraternity Bids/Membership Invitations – extended to first-year

men by each fraternity beginning on September 8th and

invitations are good for one year.

After September 8th fraternities are able to extend a bid to a

potential member 365 days a year.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Fees for Sororities &Fraternities

• Average Semester Dues $600-$1,200

• Average New Member Fee $300-$600

• Average Initiation Fee $300-$600 – New Member/Initiation Fees are a one time expense.

– Most Fraternities/Sororities do not charge semester

dues until after membership initiation. Many chapters

offer payment plans.

– Chapter members living in Greek chapter houses pay

a room & board rate (EACH FRATERNITY/SORORITY HOUSE

VARIES)
