Shade trees provide many benefits. We hope neighbors will participate in this tree planting campaign and help shade WUNA. Trees can:

• Save as much as 20% in energy costs as trees mature• Increase the resale value of your property by 15%• Retain water and soil moisture and reduce the need

for irrigation• Prevent erosion and reduce runoff• Provide habitat for native birds and backyard pets• Absorb CO2 within the fiber of the tree• Reduce stress and anxiety• Bring people together, both through the planting of

trees and when neighbors gather together under them• Expand shaded outdoor living areas• Add beauty to your surroundings• Reduce CO2 emissions from coal-fired power plants

by cooling human environments with shade and through evapotranspiration

announce a neighborhood tree planting campaign.

Eligibility:1. Each household is eligible for up to two “free” trees.2. “Free” trees must be planted in the city right of way.3. Choose street tree(s) from the list below (or online).4. Order trees online at https://tucsoncleanandbeautiful.org/wuna/ Enter coupon code of (WUNATREES2019) at checkout to access (up to) two “free” trees5. Agree to water trees as instructed until established (~15 gallons per week).6. Be present on planting day.7. (Additional trees that may be planted anywhere can also be purchased online and delivered for $25 each ($30 for fruit trees). announce a Street Tree Planting campaign (up to 80 trees) for the Neighborhood. Help cool our neighborhood and shade our streets by agreeingto take care of up to two FREE low-water-use street trees. If you agree to take care of these trees they will be planted in the right-of-way in front of your home by volunteers on Planting Day.

Choose from: Desert Willow, Velvet Mesquite, Palo Brea, Red Push Pistache, Desert Ironwood, Carob, Chinese Elm, Joan Lionetti Live Oak, Texas Mountain Laurel. For private property you may also choose: Fig, Pomegranate, Jujube.
