Dear Greenmount families, . Last Tuesday afternoon, a group of Year 4-7 students were invited to participate in a very exciting activity. Along with some very important visitors, they were being filmed by Channel 7 crew at the Blackboy Hill Commemorative site. Some of the students were interviewed and asked ‘What does ANZAC Day mean to you?’ We were very proud of the way these students represented the school. The filming was part of a video package being prepared for screening at half time on AFL Grand Final day! Be sure to watch! 50 th Year Commemorative Seating The undercover area was buzzing on Monday morning as students returned to school to find a new brick seat had been built. Thanks to the wonderful work of Mr Mark Sherwin, the bricks that students engraved several months ago have been used to build this beautiful commemorative seat which will also house a time capsule being prepared. Students thoughtfully walked around the brick structure to find their own specially engraved brick and there were delighted faces when they were found!. We had hoped to collect payments prior to the construction, but Mr Sherwin’s availability was limited and he very kindly came in over the weekend to complete the work. The school is requesting a payment of $10 for your child’s brick to help cover costs of our 50 th Year celebrations. This is an excellent price, as generally commemorative bricks are much more costly Please forward payment to front office. The weather was PERFECT yesterday for the Jumps and Throws and the wind assisted the competitors with their efforts! All is looking well for a fantastic day on Thursday (tomorrow) when we run our Years 1 – 7 Faction Carnival. Come along and enjoy the day while you cheer for your child !

HEAD LICE Several classes have reported the presence of head lice amongst students. It is important that parents check their child’s hair regularly and treat for head lice if found. The Health Department has excellent information on effective treatment, including the 10day conditioner method. The forthcoming school holidays are a great opportunity to break the cycle!
