Section 1 Executive Summary
In accordance with the conditions of the licence W0188‐01 quarterly surface water samples are
collected at the Greenstar Greenogue MRF.
A surface water sample were collected at the sampling location in June 2016. The sample was
analysed for the quarterly parameters specified in Schedule D.4 the licence.
The analytical results of the samples collected were in compliance with the Emission limit Values
(ELVs) set out in the licence.

Section 2 Introduction
Starrus Eco Holdings Ltd. (T/A Greenstar) operate a waste material transfer facility (MRF) at the
Greenogue Business Park in Rathcoole, County Dublin. The facility operates under an
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued license (W0188‐01).
The facility is located in south County Dublin, approximately 12 km west of Tallaght. The facility is
in Greenogue Industrial Estate in Rathcoole.
Greenstar appointed CDM Smith to conduct the annual environmental monitoring services at the
Greenogue Business Park MRF under the conditions and schedules of the waste licence.
1.1 Monitoring and Reporting Requirements
All morning was carried out in line with Condition 8 and Schedule D of the licence. All reporting
was carried out in line with Condition 11 and Schedule E of the licence. The monitoring frequency
and parameters specified in the licence are presented in Table 1.

Section 3 Surface Water Monitoring
3.1 Sampling Point Locations Surface water sampling is carried out at one location (SW‐1) on site. The sample point is located
after the on‐site oil water interceptor and prior to discharge of the storm water from site. The
sample location is shown on the Drawing FIG 001 in Appendix 1.
3.2 Method 3.2.1 Sample Collection A surface water sample was collected on the 30th of June 2016. The sample was collected using a
telescopic sampling pole. A laboratory prepared sampling bottle was attached to the pole.
The pH, electrical conductivity and temperature were measured in‐situ using a Hanna Instruments
combo pH, electrical conductivity and temperature probe. The probe was calibrated before
sampling. The in‐situ field data is summarised in Table 2. All field parameters were within the
expected range for good water quality.
Table 2 In‐Situ Surface Water Monitoring data for SE‐1
Parameter Units SW‐1 June 2016
pH pH unit 7.89
Conductivity µS/cm 571
Temperature ˚C 11.0
The sample was stored in a cooler box at a temperature below 4oC prior to shipment to the
laboratory. Samples were shipped to ALS Laboratories in Dublin within two hours of sampling. ALS
are an UKAS accredited laboratory. . Chain of custody (COC) documentation was included with the
sample shipped to the laboratory. The methodologies were all ISO/CEN approved or equivalent.
3.3 Surface Water Quality 3.3.1 Surface Water Results The results of the analysis are presented in Table 3. The full laboratory reports is presented in
Appendix 2. For comparative purposes the ELVs (Schedule C.3 of the licence) and the trigger levels
(Condition 6.3.2 of the licence) are included in Table 3.
3.4 Discussion The surface water samples in Q‐2 2016 were 100% complaint with the ELVs and Trigger Levels.
