PRINCIPALS REPORT: Dear Parents, Last weeks Kindergarten Orientation was a great success. The children we have coming to school next year had a great time getting to know their peers, their school and their classroom. We look forward to having them back again this week. Thank you to Mrs Baker for running the parent session and to our wonderful P&C members and canteen volunteers for promoting our school, showing off the wonderful food that is served in our canteen and for making our new parents feel welcome. Last Thursday we also had a visit from Power FM. I know the children had a great time participating in the activities and enjoying the free breakfast. Mrs Gordon Hall did an amazing job of coordinating the event which brought lots of visitors to our school and again promoted it for the inclusive community school that it is. P&C raised few hundred dollars on the day from their BBQ and Year 5/6 also managed to raise $111.80 which will go towards the Year 6 gift to the school and their farewell. Many students visited my office last week to show me the great work they have been completing in class. One of the things teachers have been work- ing hard on is setting Success Criteriabefore each lesson to help students raise the bar on their own achievement. This has been working well and the children are getting better at stating what the criteria was when showing me their work and highlighting where they have met the criteria within their work. It is one of the highlights of my day when students come to me proud of their efforts. This Friday sees our SRC holding a cupcake day to raise money for Bobin Public School which was burned down recently in the fires that were sweep- ing the area. This is a one teacher school and is similar to ours in that it has a wonderful united community. Unfortunately this school has lost everything, so if you can support our SRC to raise funds this Friday, they would be most appreciative. Cupcakes will be on sale for $2.00 and multiple purchases are encouraged. If you are able to help with cooking or donating cupcakes please also let the school know. This Friday, the 22 nd November sees our Year 5 students giving their 2020 leadership speeches. Speeches will commence at 2pm and will be a part of our last whole school assembly for the year. We wish our Year 5’s all the best. We are sure you will do yourselves proud. Please join us if you are able. The next time we all get together after this event will be for the end of Year presentation assembly on Friday 13 th December. I do hope you have saved this date to your calendar.

COMMUNITY NOTICES THE NOWRA FARMERS MARKET A huge thank you to the Nowra Farmers Market who generously donate each week a fruit and vegetable box for our Friday raffles.

Please make sure you have returned your swim school note as we will be collating the information this week so we can form the students into groups. The program is commencing next Monday and we don’t want anyone to miss out unnecessarily. A reminder note outlining what your child will need to bring will be sent home later in the week. The term is flying by quickly and there are many events coming up on the schools calendar. Please keep an eye on the newsletter and regularly check the Facebook page for any updates. I will leave you with some photos of the Kindergarten and Year 1’s walk around Greenwell Point last Friday and some photos of students displaying their work.

Regards,

Mrs Cathie Glennan
