CWallet Holds a Workshop onSecuring Business Transactions withBlockchain Technology
CWallet, an incubated startup at DIC, has
organized an online workshop focused on
the importance of securing business
transactions with blockchain technology.
The workshop was presented by Michael
Javier, CEO and founder of CWallet, and
was attended by startups and SMEs.
Discussed at the workshop were the
details of business transactions and how
to establish secure transactions with
blockchain. These include the definitions
of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, why
blockchain is considered a leading
technology for digital assets and how it is
implemented in numerous real-time
applications. Javier pointed out the
difference between permissioned and
permission-less blockchains and
demonstrated the security analysis of
blockchain
Javier concluded the workshop with a demo
session of CWallet app, Qatar’s first and only

The Digital Incubation Center hosted a virtual panel discussion to discuss the challenges that
startups and SMEs are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic and how to mitigate those issues
as they move forward. Taking part in the discussion were three DIC startups, namely Snoonu,
Ebutler and Medicall who provided insightful information about their own journeys during the
pandemic and how they have used the crisis as a building opportunity for the advancement of
their companies.
Building a successful startup company is an enormous achievement even in the best of
circumstances let alone in the middle of a global pandemic. One of the big questions that was
addressed during the webinar was whether startups and SMEs have the ability to survive the
hurdles imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. A common trait shared by these three flourishing
startup companies is their approach to focus on aspects which they can control rather than
consuming their efforts on things that are out of their control. During the panel, entrepreneurs
discussed strategies to help fellow incubated startups and SMEs to better navigate the
challenges presented by the pandemic.
The health and safety of employees and contractors was perhaps the most important aspect
of the discussion. All three speakers emphasized that this should be the principal focus for all
startups and SMEs during the pandemic. In addition, it is important that startups set in place
and implement rigorous policies to ensure that health and safety guidelines set by the
government to combat Covid-19 are followed.
The changes that startups are going through today are shifting the way they do business and
also are forcing them to come up with new dynamics of operations and interactions that cater
specifically to the challenges that they are facing at the present moment. However, startups
also have the difficult task to address the foreseeable challenges that will last long after the
covid-19 pandemic.
DIC holds a panel discussion on
Startups’ growth
The Digital Incubation Center along with its
startups took part in the first ever Covid-19
techathon hosted by Kiwitech. The aim of the
techathon was to bring together the world’s
most innovative minds including investors,
leaders and entrepreneurs to tackle different
issues posed by the current pandemic.
KiwiTech is a robust startup ecosystem that
looks to foster collaboration between startup
entrepreneurs and investors to build world
class technology companies.
Over a period of three days, 28 different
startup companies showcased their
innovations across three different categories: health & wellness, fintech and workforce
management. The event also featured an
exciting lineup of prominent panelists in the
world of innovation who talked about the
future of the tech industry and what to
expect post pandemic.
The first day of the techathon focused on
health and wellness and featured 10
startups who showcased across two
different tracks alongside a panel
discussion that allowed experts to express
their opinions on how the crisis is changing
the landscape of the health and wellness
industry.
During the second day of the techathon,
one of our DIC startup CWallet took part in
the fintech panel discussion. CWallet
delivered an informative presentation to
showcase their startup solution which was
followed by an interactive Q&A session with
the participants giving them a chance to ask
key questions that are currently shaping
the fintech industry, particularly in Qatar.

On the third and last day another DIC startup PMOBytes took part in the workforce management
panel discussion as they showcased their startup solution “Qpunch” which is a Smart Project
Management application that leverages the use of latest technologies to enhance effectiveness,
transparency and efficiency within the construction project management processes.
