It’s been a busy year at Greg Gilbert Real Estate. Overall the housing market continued to grow and so did the Sutherland Shire and Port Hacking Regions, which was great news for the local market.

In this issue we’ll be wrapping up the year that was for our region, reviewing our own Greg Gilbert achievements and look ahead to what’s in store for 2015. Our resident auctioneer will also give us his take on the auction market in 2014.

2014 has seen a strong property market with robust performance across the Sutherland Shire property market. The overall market sentiment has been positive throughout the year, which was demonstrated by a strong finish in November – December.

Overall in 2014, the median house price in the Sutherland Shire rose by 12.99%.

We accomplished great things throughout 2014. Our team consistently achieved record sales and auction clearance rates:

• Highest Cronulla Beach Front Sale $5.75M• Highest Burraneer non-waterfront sale ($3.5M)• Record Burraneer waterfront sale

(price undisclosed)• Highest Sale Price in Grays Point• Auction clearance rate of 89%

We also expanded our team with the addition of Sarah Street and Nathan Ogilvie. Both Sarah and Nathan have proven to be valuable members of our team.

At the heart of what we do is our local community. We love the Sutherland Shire Region and everything it has to offer. We proudly continued our ongoing support of Caringbah Public School, and the school band we also supported the Smith Family charity dinner as well as Gold sponsors of Yowie Bay Public School and the Yowie Bay Community Golf Day.

We also expanded our property management service and implemented PropertyTree. PropertyTree is an Australian industry first, providing online, secure access, to real-time information so we can better manage and service our rental property clients.

We also grew our social media platforms considerably in 2014. We have built an engaged and loyal audience on Facebook and recently introduced Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter to actively build our brand and promote our properties on these platforms.

We have plenty of exciting things happening in 2015. We’ve hired a new in-house marketing manager Rachel Peterson, who will head up our internal marketing team.

We also have some exciting things planned for the Greg Gilbert brand. We’ll be launching a brand refresh while continuing our consistently excellent results and exceptional client service.

Our commitment to our local community will also continue with ongoing support of the Caringbah Public School and Yowie Bay Public School and in 2015 we will also support Caringbah NORTH Public School. This also extends to our local environment. Our office will be going completely paperless in 2015 in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.
