Thirty males membersofthe nationalrowingteam(18-24yearsold)performed maximal incremental rowing exercise. The initial workload was set at 150W and then increased by 50W every 2 min until volitional exhaustion. Following maximal rowing exercise the subjects were equally divided into three groups. The first groupperformedpassiverecovery, thesecondandthethirdgroups performedactiverecoveryat25%and50%ofVO2max,respectively.During the20minofrecoverythefollowingvariablesweremeasured:VO2,VCO2, VE,R.E.R,H.R,dyspneaindexandbloodlactateconcentration.Gas analyzerandportablelactatedevicewereusedtomeasuredthe cardiopulmonarymeasuresandlactateconcentration.Theresultsshowed nosignificantdifferencesinH.Rmax,VO2max,VE,R.E.R,dyspneaindexand lactateconcentrationbetweengroups.Duringtheactiverecoveryat50% VO2maxlactateconcentrationsignificantlydecreasedfrom9.551.32 mmol/Lattheendofexerciseto5.460.38mmol/Landto4.200.37 mmol/L at10minandthe end ofrecovery, respectively(p
