Gap analysis: methodology-1
• To highlight transversal issues with respect to key aspects for the large scale
deployment of the innovations tested in pilot projects
• To assess the maturity level of each Functional Objective with respect to the EEGI
priorities
• To compare the results achieved by ongoing and past demos with the relevant EEGI
priorities and to identify research priorities for future research programmes

Hardware
Software tools Toolbox to build scenarios.
• Tools to perform network simulations at Pan EU level integrating new emerging technologies.
Integration into the system
To define pan-European network expansion scenarios; identify maximum volume of RES and DER for pan-European network; identify investments required to achieve 2050 vision
To provide methods for identifying rates of storage needed at European level to
develop a sustainable and efficient network

the maturity categories are a limited set metrics orthogonal (independent) to the structure of the EEGI clusters and functional objectives, applicable to a large set of objectives, able to assess as closely as possible the key goals of each objective without redundancy. Maturity categories consider incremental smart grid characteristics and capabilities that represent key elements defined in the roadmap: grid planning, development, operation, management
