Postgraduate Program ICT Infrastructure, Network Management & Internet

Networking Academy HUBrussel

This document describes the postgraduate courses in the area of ICT Infrastructure, Net-work Management and Internet offered by the HUB University College, from the fundamental to the advanced professional level.

The courses were developed in close collabora-tion with Cisco Systems as a part of the global Cisco Networking Academy project. All courses lead to official Cisco Certification.

Course Description

The following postgraduate courses in the area of ICT Infrastructure, Network Management and Internet are offered:

• ICT & Network Security Management (NAB-SM): from the fundamental to the specialized level

• ICT Architecture & Network Management (NAB-NM): from the specialized to the advanced level

• Cisco Networking Academy Instructor (NAB-IN): for teachers of official educational institutions

The first two postgraduate programs consist of three modules each. On aver-age a participant needs one semester to complete a course module.

The courses are organized in an open learning center atmosphere allowing you to work at your own pace with plenty of opportunities for lab work.

The courses are taught by professional and certified instructors.

Target Audience

Our curriculum is aimed at ICT professionals seeking enterprise-level network-ing skills, preparing them for job roles such as network engineer, network ad-ministrator, network consultant or system integrator. The courses are open for people with a bachelor degree or higher. Others are free to apply by providing a detailed overview of relevant professional experience.

The program Cisco Networking Academy Instructor is for IT trainers and teachers of official educational institutions.

ICT & Network Security Management (20 ects)

Code: NAB-SM

The postgraduate program ICT & Network Security Management consists of a fundamental part at the CCNA level and a specialized part. The aim is to de-velop knowledge and skills in all areas of computer networks with a specific focus on security management.

• NAB01 - CCNA Exploration A (fundamental level - 6 ects)Network Fundamentals - 6 sessions - 18 hours LAN Switching & Wireless Networks - 6 sessions - 18 hours

• NAB02 - CCNA Exploration B (fundamental level - 6 ects)Routers & Routing Protocols - 6 sessions - 18 hours Wide Area Networks (WAN) - 6 sessions - 18 hours

After parts NAB01 and NAB02 it is possible to obtain the Cisco Certified Net-working Associate certificate by succeeding in the official certification exam. NAB03 prepares you for the official specialist certification exam Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS).

The full postgraduate program on ICT & Network Security Management consists of 36 sessions of 3 hours. Applicants having obtained the fundamen-tal CCNA level can immediately enroll for the NAB03 course and are advised to take up the full ICT Architecture & Network Management postgraduate program (for a description, see next page).

ICT Architecture & Network Management (24 ects)

Code: NAB-NM

The postgraduate program ICT Architecture & Network Management is for advanced professionals aspiring for the CCNP level and consists of a special-ized part on network security and a advanced professional part about rout-ing and switch management.

• NAB03 - CCNA Security (specialized level - 8 ects)Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) 12 sessions - 36 hours

The postgraduate program ICT Architecture & Network Management con-sists of 36 sessions of 3 hours. Applicants who already have obtained the CCNA Security certificate only have to enroll for the NAB04 and NAB05 courses in order to obtain the postgraduate certificate.

Every course module in the program prepares you for an official Cisco cer-tificate. After taking the three courses you are eligible for an official postgraduate certificate issued by HUB University College.

EXTRA COURSE

The following course is offered as a free open learning activity in our net-work lab for students having obtained the postgraduate level of ICT Archi-tecture & Network Management. The course will prepare you hands-on for the full CCNP level.

NABTS - CCNP TSHOOT Maintaining and Troubleshooting IP Networks

Cisco Networking Academy Instructor (24 ects)

Code: NAB-IN

The postgraduate program Cisco Net-working Academy Instructor is offered in close collaboration with Cisco Systems and the global Cisco Networking Academy project.

Depending on the competences and skills obtained, teachers will receive a training program to become a fully certified trainer at the CCNA level. Most sessions will be offered using distance learning. Participants will not be re-quired to travel to Brussels every week.

Prerequisites

Everyone interested in a network career is able to enroll in the Network-ing Academy courses. However, an official postgraduate certificate issued by HUB University College will only be granted to those students who have a bachelor degree level at the minimum. Others will receive a certificate of participation.
