MIDDLE EASTMIDDLE EAST

Dubai – Layla Mandi ; The Canadian make up artist who converted to Islam is marketing cosmetics called OnePure cosmetics which is religiously approved as ‘halal cosmetics’ .

She realized that the ingredients of many creams, lotions, and make up items did not fit with the idea of Islam.

Many cosmetic brands of animal byproduct such as blood, urine, fats, gelatin from horns and hooves, swine placenta and stearic acid, a fatty substances from the stomach lining, often of pigs.

Miss Mandi moved to Dubai to research about the shopping habit of Arab and Muslim women, and to develop her product she hired a chemist and a dermatologist from Canada.

OnePure contains an organic mix of halal-certified ingredients created to maximize the skin’s natural beauty.

OnePure cosmetics are guaranteed free from pork derivatives.

Package in luxury wrappers.

OnePure cosmetics has religious backing in the form of halal certification from Malaysia.

As something new that hits the market, critics of OnePure cosmetics started weighing on in the whole concept of halal beauty products for women.

Some says that it is just a clever marketing ploy to make Muslims women to buy the products so that they feel they are better Muslims.

Others insist that OnePure is not the first halal make up to be sold, the secularly marketed ‘The Body Shop’ has been in business for years and all of their products are free from animal derivatives.

However, for Mandi her top priority is fulfilling the halal beauty needs of everyday Muslim woman so that they can put their best face forward.

The Usage of Laser Technology in Latest Cosmetics Treatment

Laser technology is being used widely in latest cosmetic treatment such as for body, skin resurfacing for wrinkle reduction or treatment of acne scars removal of pigmented blemishes and treatment of vascular lesions.

These technologies include various types of lasers, intense pulsed light and radio-frequency energy.

Lasers emit an intense beam of light or energy (visible or invisible) with a specific wavelength, which is targeted at a type of tissue in the part of the body being treated. When the beam of energy reaches its target, it is absorbed and converted into heat. If the procedure is done properly, the heat inactivates or destroys cells in the target area without having a significant effect on the other cells that surround it.

The correct laser instrument is chosen for a given treatment and there is a risk of temporary effects, including immediate pain, reddening of the skin, bruising and swelling. Some lasers are equipped with cooling devices to reduce the risk.

If the wrong device is used or if a procedure is not done properly, the desired results may not be obtained and there is a risk of permanent scarring.

ISSUE 2NUCLEAR AND WEAPONARY

ISLAMIC COUNTRIES AND NUCLEAR

POWER

The misuse of nuclear power leaves bad impact to the Islamic countries.

The US, the Zionist regime [Israel], and the United Kingdom use their sophisticated nuclear power to attack Islamic countries.

We can take example from what happen in Gaza, Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Many innocent people were killed whereas cities and lands were destroyed.

CONCLUSIOCONCLUSIONN

We as Muslims should take the responsibilities to make science and technology glowing in Islamic countries.

The future growth of science and technologies can best be achieved through bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The two organs of OIC; the Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) can be envisaged to play a very positive role in this regard provided they are adequately strengthened through a collective effort of OIC
