    1. Login to either domain controller (VS1, VS3) or onto S32. Go to Administrative Tools and open Group Policy Management

    3. You will then see a window like this:

On the left hand side you see the list of policies, outlined in RED. Below that some of the differentOUs in AD, outlined in BLUE. Policies can be applied at the domain level, or they can be applied onlyto a specific OU. Such as the Workstation Policy that you can see is applied to the Laptop OU underComputers RAM, as outlined in Orange. You may notice that some OUs have an Exclamation inthe middle of a blue circle. This indicates that the OU does not inherit any policies. You have toapply them specifically to that OU. You do this for machines that need their own settings that will notapply anywhere else.

The next image explains the right hand side.

On the right hand side you see two main areas, the upper portion, outlined in RED and the lowerportion outlined in BLUE. The upper portion contains the Scope, which tells you which OUs thatPolicy applies to, the details page that gives you basic info like when it was created, its Unique ID,etc. Is also shows Settings, which will go into further in the next image, and the Delegation tab. Weare not using that portion in your environment. The lower portion allows to set it so that a policy will

only apply to a certain security group, user, or computer. You can select multiple user accounts orcomputers. For instance, we could set it so that the Workstation Policy under the Laptops OU onlyapplies to the Laptops we define in the policy. I will not go into more detail on that, as it outside thescope of this document.

The next image shows the settings tab selected and will explain what you can see.

The RED arrows point to the previously mentioned structure that was also shown in the Settings Tab.Which is User Configuration -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Drive Maps. This is where we can add, edit, change drive mappings.

These instructions should give you the basics of where to see group policies. How to see what thesettings are, and where to edit those settings.

Instructions that explain what each GP setting is possible is way beyond the scope of what I will type. There is documentation on the web that can give more info.
