Description

GROUTEX 6 is a cementation premixed, non-shrinking grout for general use in applications such as grouting of structural columns and machinery base plates. The product combines a controlled expansion with high early strengths and excellent flow properties.

Applications

GROUTEX 6 is recommended for the following applications :

Precision non-shrinking grouting of dynamic and vibrating machinery requiring high strength and impact resistance: turbines, electric motors, generators, compressors, presses and pumps. Base plates of machinery in the steel, aluminium, paper, rubber, chemical industries and in nuclear power plants. Structural concrete and steel columns, as well as crane rails. Precast and prestressed panels Anchors, bolts and prestressing ducts.

Mixing

GROUTEX 6 is ready for use and requires only the addition of water.

GROUTEX 6 shall be thoroughly mixed in an appropriate mixer until a uniform, lump-free and flowable consistency is obtained.Typically a mixing time of 3 to 5 minutes is sufficient.Working time : minimum 1 hour at 20°C.

Surface preparation

1. All surfaces to be in contact with GROUTEX 6 should be entirely free of oilm grease, laitance or other foreign substances. Roughen surface to ensure a good bond to the substrate.

2. Pre-soak the concrete substrate with water for minimum of 6 hours (preferably 24 hours) before grouting.

3. Remove excess water just before to placing GROUTEX 6 .

4. Use watertight and strong formworks.

5. For grouting applications under cold and hot weather conditions, it is recommended to consult our technical depart-ment for recommendations regarding the use of GROUTEX 6 at low and high temperatures.

After mixing, GROUTEX 6 may be flowed, pumped or injected into place. In order to avoid air pockets, it is impor-tant to place the grout continuously and rapidly from one side or one corner only.The type of GROUTEX 6 and the required amount of water is dependent on the grouting dimensions, in particular on the grout depth.As an alternative for the premixed GROUTEX 608, the standard grade GROUTEX 603 can be used by 30 - 50% (by weight) addition of rolled gravel 3/8.

SafetyGROUTEX 6 is a cement-based product and can therefore cause skin and eye irritation.If contact with the product occurs, immediately wash out eyes and skin with water. Consult a doctor if persistent ir-ritation occurs.S 2 : keep out of the reach of children.S 24/25 : avoid contact with skin and eyes.S 26 : in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.S 37 : wear suitable gloves.

S 46 : if swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.

ProtectionIn order to prevent hairline cracks and shrinkage, the GROUTEX 6 visible surfaces should be carefully cured for a minimum of 48 hours (preferably 3 days) with wet rags or wet burlap, covered with plastic sheeting, or coated with a quality membrane curing compound.In any case, GROUTEX 6 must be protected from extreme temperatures during the first couple of days.In-service operation may begin immediately after minimum required grout strengths have been reached.
