Message from the Chair Dear Friends,

The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce (RRC) is proud to present the 2016 edition of Connections. Our staff and board members are full of energy and enthusiasm for the coming year as we focus on facilitating and contributing

to business growth and community engagement in the greater Rochester area.

In 2015, the Chamber experienced sold out events and record attendance throughout the calendar year. We graduated the 12th class of our Leadership Greater Rochester Program and the 4th class of our Rochester Youth Leadership Program. We celebrated the opening of about 40 new or expanding businesses with ribbon cuttings in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township.

In the fall of 2015 the Chamber was proud to announce the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce Charity Fund. The Charity Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization that will support the Mission of the

resources in order to advance business development in partnership with civic, cultural and

Ambassador Network

The Ambassador Network is comprised of Chamber members who volunteer to serve as the “extended staff” of the Chamber. Ambassadors help welcome new Chamber members, serve as greeters at events and volunteer in various other ways. Ambassadors wear red name tags at Chamber events so they are easily recognizable to new members.

Becoming an ambassador has its benefits! Ambassadors meet a large number of other Chamber members — the exposure for their company is huge! Ambassadors meet on a quarterly basis. Contact the Chamber for more information at 248.651.6700.

Committee Opportunities

ChRISTMAS PARADE COMMITTEEThe Christmas Parade Committee contributes to the annual Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade, the largest Christmas parade in the state of Michigan.

GOLF TOuRNAMENT COMMITTEE Helps coordinate the Chamber’s number one fundraiser and enjoys a day on the golf course!

huMAN RESOuRCES COMMITTEE This committee is a collaborative to connect HR leaders across industries to discuss needs and topics of interest for the purpose of developing and retaining a talented workforce thereby increasing the quality of life in the greater Rochester area.

LEGISLATIvE AFFAIRS COMMITTEEThe Legislative Affairs Committee informs the Chamber membership on governmental activities, legislation and regulation affecting the business community, and plans the Community Outlook Breakfast and Oakland County Update.

COLLABORATION COMMITTEE“Collaborating together to help those in need in our community.”Rochester Regional Service Collaboration was launched by Rochester area youth, nonprofit leaders and individuals dedicated to seeing those in need assisted and thriving in our community. Through the combined efforts of our key nonprofit agencies, Rochester Regional Service Collaboration raises funds to support, feed and give back to its community, creating the change that will then ripple throughout our region.

RELOCATION AND WELCOME SERvICE PROGRAMSNew residents and employees are moving into and being recruited to our market. Include your brochures or giveaways in our popular Welcome Service bag.

RIBBON CuTTING & GRAND OPENING CEREMONIESThe Chamber will help plan your ribbon cutting and/or grand opening celebration! Choose one of three packages available to include dignitaries, business and community members on your special day. See page 12 for details.

GOvERNMENT RELATIONSOur Chamber Board Members and Staff are heavily involved in economic development and tourism initiatives for our region. We also provide representation in local, state and federal matters.

CONvENTION SERvICE LEADSTourism is coming into our area frequently. When the Chamber is contacted for these bus groups, tours or special events we notify membership with a lead so they may be connected to the group/opportunity.

ChAMBER E-NEWSLETTERE-mailed each Monday morning, this E-Newsletter keeps all Chamber members and community subscribers informed about Chamber and community events. Members are allowed to submit announcements and articles to the E-Newsletter at any time. See page 11 for details.

NEW MEMBER BREAKFAST Held twice annually this free breakfast welcomes the newest Chamber members.

PREFERRED CLIENT NETWORK GROuPS Groups of 15–25 Chamber members gather biweekly to discuss and pass qualified referrals and leads.

WEDNESDAy WORKShOP Seminar type events held in Chamber conference room. Open to members to host and present. Members must apply to host. Host is responsible for providing content, marketing and any food and/or beverages. Workshops must be educational in nature, no direct sales.

The Sunrise Pinnacle Awards Ceremony, organized each year by the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce, is an opportunity for the greater Rochester communities to come together to honor the accomplishments and contributions of our region’s most visionary leaders, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations and businesses.
