Campaign, giving over 1,500 scholarships to

the Greater West Point community in 2013.

We’re for Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are vital to the success of the Zombie 5K and Zombie Chase Fun Run. If you are cheering on a family member or friend, it’s a great way to see the race! Volunteers are needed in several areas, including the water stop and post race celebration.

ZOMBIE 5K RACE INFORMATION

All participants are welcome… fast, slow, old, and young. We love animals, but no pets are allowed at this event. Jogging strollers are NOT permitted.

Runners encounter Zombies along the course in the “feed zones” and try to grab “life strips.”

All runners 12 years and younger must run with a parent or guardian.

Registration must be received by Monday, October 13th to secure a race t-shirt.

Registration form must be entirely completed.

Each athlete (or parent thereof) must sign the attached registration waiver.

The course is fast and flat with a mixed-surface course from the YMCA along the cart path of the Country Club of West Point. Visit www.peninsulaymca.org/branches/greater-west-point for a course overview.

Participants are given three (maybe four) Life Flags—flag football flags—to wear during the race. For each flag you finish the race wearing, you’ll have one minute subtracted from your time. If you lose them; you are not disqualified.

ZOMBIE CHASE 1-MILE FUN RUN Children of all ages can chase the Zombies for a

1-mile Fun Run through the course!

ZOMBIES

Zombies MUST register and wear a race bib.

Zombies must be at least 14 to grab life flags from runners.

Zombies are chased to the “feed zone” during the 1-mile Fun Run. Zombies will not scare Fun Run runners!

Zombies stay in the “feed zone” for the entire 5k. Zombies DO NOT run the course; they wait for runners along the way, grabbing life flags at a zombie-like pace.

In exchange for good and valuable consideration, the adequacy of which is hereby acknowledged, I hereby give the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA, its legal representatives, successors, and assigns, or those for whom it is acting, and all persons and corporations acting with its permission or upon its authority the absolute right and permission to take, copyright, use, and publish photographs of or concerning me and/or my family members, in whole, in part, or in composite, in any and all media, for purposes of Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA art, advertising, education, or promotion, or for any other purpose consistent with the YMCA mission.
