The ACMPR 2016HOW DOES THE ACCESS TO CANNABIS FOR MEDICAL PURPOSESREGULATIONS (THE ACMPR) LEGISLATION AFFECT YOU?

WHO WE ARE

GrowLegally has over 10 years of industry experience in the areas of growing, marketing, and business development. Our consultancy and clinical services have been a trusted source of expertise to a variety of medical cannabis organizations and businesses, ranging from start-ups to established corporations, as well as large clinical practices.

We offer our rapidly expanding database of over 10,000 patients and growers full-range of services and supports, and have a proven six year track record in the implementation of medical cannabis programs in clinics across Canada.

AUGUST 24, 2016 marked an exciting turning point for Canadian medical cannabis patients and craft growers, as Health Canada introduced new regulations governing its use and production. Following the groundbreaking Allard v. Canada decision by the the Federal Court of Canada, the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) adopts the older Medical Marihuana Access Regulations (MMAR) system and combines it with the Marihuana for Medical Purpose Regulations (the MMPR), allowing licensed patients to either grow for themselves, or designate another person to grow on their behalf. For more information and to read the full regulations click here.

With the legal uncertainties of medical marijuana production finally being lifted, GrowLegally is at the forefront of innovating current practices in the Canadian medical marijuana industry, for patients and growers alike. For ‘craft growers’ interested in growing for licensed medical cannabis patients who are seeking alternatives to commercial licensed producers, GrowLegally recently introduced its unprecedented GrowCo program and is offering all growers the opportunity to operate as a part of a larger collective ‘growing ecosystem’, and to enjoy the supports of a much larger growing operation. As a GrowCo Designated Grower, you can choose to grow in a single or multiunit growing facility that houses a collective of smaller growing operations for individual patients.

As legislative trends continue to broaden the scope of medical cannabis access, your participation in our GrowCo program puts you in a strategic position to reap the potential economic benefits of an increasingly commercialized industry. This is an ideal time for all investors and craft growers seeking to reap the economic rewards of these legal changes to invest in long-term medical marijuana business ventures. However, a standardized and optimal system of production and distribution that operates within the parameters of Canadian law, is critical. This is what sets us apart. GrowLegally seeks to offer all of our medical cannabis growers a lucrative opportunity to protect their investments and to prepare them for success.

We support a free market in the emergent medical cannabis industry. GrowLegally aims to ensure that local companies can develop into globally competitive businesses, with equal rights to wholesale Cannabis to pharmacies and dispensaries and to retail directly to Canadian patients.

GrowLegally Addresses Health Canada Claims with the Quality of Life Clinical Studies

HEALTH CANADA AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF CANADA have released official statements suggesting that residential grow operations could pose significant health and safety risks to the general public. The health concerns cited included risk of fire, mould, escaping odours and chemical contamination, along with broader reaching social claims like increases in crime due to increased risk of theft, and blackmarket activity.

GrowLegally’s Quality of Life Clinical Study seeks not only to address these concerns and to contribute to the development of policy, but to aid in alleviating the concerns of governmental agencies regarding residential and small scale growing operations. Removing the stigma associated with being a small-scale, home, or personal producer has a number of desirable social effects. In particular: accessible medical treatment that is home-grown challenging outdated attitudes thus reducing liability for prescribing physicians. This increases the role that small scale “craft growers” will play in the future of Cannabis development in Canada.

The Quality of Life Clinical Study is an ongoing longitudinal study jointly carried out with GrowLegally affiliated patients, producers, and physicians in an effort to contribute to the growing body of knowledge concerning medical marijuana, and its production and its use in clinical and alternative health practices. All of our clients are automatically enrolled in our clinical study and will complete periodic progress reports, which will be jointly administered and reviewed by GrowLegally’s affiliated, participating healthcare professionals, Health Canada accredited laboratories, and industry technical specialists. GrowLegally will ensure client participation is effortless and will assist patients in completing these reports should they require support. Areas of interest will include: patient health safety and efficacy, safety technical growing practices, chemical potency and purity, as well as socioeconomic and cultural issues.

All GrowLegally’s medical cannabisclients — both patients and producers — enjoy the additional benefit of knowing they have consistent access to quality, whether that is strain specific medicine tailored to their medical condition, or standardized, carefully monitored growing procedures developed by industry experts.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

All medicine produced by GrowLegally growers must be tested to ensure potency and our patients are consuming safe medicine free of contamination and harmful pesticides. The information gathered is vital to the research that is needed to prove that Craft Growers can satisfy the standards made by Health Canada and The College of Physicians.

P A T I E N T S

All patients will participate in ongoing completion of our progress reports. Their data will be reviewed by our advising physicians who will perform ongoing assessments of their health status as well as documenting qualititativeinterviews and individual case studies on an ongoing basis. These reports will be administered in a manner that will impose no burden on our patients, but rather give them a voice in the future development of health and safety policy.

P H Y S I C I A N S

Physicians will play a critical part in the administration, review and analysis of the study as they monitor and document patient needs as a whole. This creates a clear and authoritative picture of patient health concerns, progress and information pertinent to future policy development in Canada. Participating physicians set the stage for progressive attitude changes towards medical marijuana use in clinical practice.
