Road congestion due to unsystematic growth in number of vehicles.
Poor public vehicle inspection mechanism, resulting in safety compromises.
Lack of government support due to non-availability of formal subsidy disbursement mechanism.
Vintage vehicles with high maintenance cost.
Increased urbanization has led to various issues in transport
Shortage of public service vehicles especially buses.
Lack of apposite urban transportation technology.

Increasing number of illegal three wheeler vehicles
Lack of integration amongst various modes of transport
Lack of coordination among various concerned authorities
Lack of proper road side infrastructure i.e. bus shelters, flagposts, signage, footpaths etc.
Dearth of comfortable and modern transport facilities for general public.
WE ARE…
New environment friendly buses in major cities
Pink Bus Service for female commuters and discount facility for students
Construction of new bus shelters and up gradation of existing bus depots to provide relief to commuters
Replacement of 2-stroke noisy auto rickshaws with environment friendly 4-stroke CNG auto rickshaws
Luring foreign investment, expanding the Transport sector and increasing employment in the sector
Subsidy disbursement mechanism through e-ticketing to sustain the public transport. In city like Lahore, government is providing Rs.10.5/- per commuter as per following details:

Initiation of mega projects:
Metro Rail (Orange Line)
Initiation of Metro Bus Services in Major Cities, making Pakistan amongst 36 countries who are using this sophisticated mode of transport.
Lahore Metro bus Service: Started in 2013. 27 Km long track with 27 stations.
Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro bus Service: Started in 2015. 24 Km long track connecting twin cities, with 24 stations.
Multan Metro bus Service (Under construction): 18.2 km long track connecting main commercial areas of the city.

UPCOMING PROJECTS
Karachi Metro Bus Service: It will consist of 5 corridors and will have total length of about 109 kilometers.
Peshawar Metro Bus Service: 18.4 kilometer from Chamkani to Hayatabad area of Peshawar.
Faisalabad Metro Bus Service: will connect Faisalabad International Airport to City Bus Terminal, passing through main hubs of the city.
Construction of State-of-the-Art bus terminal cum commercial complex.
2 more VICS to be established near Lahore.
2 Multi-Modal terminals for Lahore.
Introduction of Purple and yellow Metro rail lines in Lahore.

Introduction of CCTV/ Enforcement equipment to monitor increasing traffic flow and regulate it effectively
Development of necessary transport related infrastructure
Impart training to different transport enforcement agencies and provide awareness to public at large
Elimination of illegal three wheelers, provision of alternate mode of transport for the owners of three wheelers
Introduction of Near Field Communication (NFC) cards to eliminate on board cash handling
Integration of urban transport system for ease of commuting • Integration of various modes of transport • Fare Integration
