We pray that our own hearts might be expanded to love one another with a greater love. By this we become marvelous imitators of God. This week (May 10-12) our Blessed Sacrament School 8th Grade is Taking their Class Trip to Camp Ondessonk in southern Illinois. We pray that they may have a marvelous time together enjoying the beauty of nature and the camaraderie of their classmates. We look forward to celebrating their graduation on Thur. May 20. On Sun. May 23 at 10:00 a.m. Mass we will honor all Parish Graduating H.S. Seniors from the Class of 2021. A small reception will be held for them in the Gathering Space following our 10:00 a.m. liturgy. Congratulations to our Graduating Senior Class of 2021! This weekend we are bringing back Monthly Donut Sunday after the 10 a.m. Mass. This will be an opportunity for us to do a little fellowship again once a month immediately following our 10 a.m. Mass. I thank Sally Kroner for her willingness to coordinate these events, and I thank the many volunteers who will be helping to execute this each month. On Fri. evening May 21 the Men’s Group will be hosting a Night Golf fundraiser at Cedar Crest Golf Course. Five or more teams are needed to fill the field and at least 10 more volunteers. Please contact Aaron Kerkoff at [email protected] This Summer I plan to host a 6-week Adult Education DVD Series entitled “The Bible and the Church Fathers,” produced by the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology (Scott Hahn). The dates are tentatively set for June 16 - July 28. Finally, I would like to congratulate our mothers today on Mother’s Day. May the good Lord continue to bless our mothers with his special assistance to carry out their unique vo-cation with patience, dignity, and grace.
May the Peace of the Risen Christ be with you all, Fr. Tom

From the Pastor’s Desk
Today we celebrate the 6th Sunday of Easter. In the gospel Jesus gives his disciples the com-mandment, “love one another as I love you.” He describes this love as a love of friendship, a love willing to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Tim L. Haley Scholarship Fundraiser
“Heart Check For Tim” On April 13, 2017 Timothy Haley died from an unknown heart issue while playing cards with friends. It was identified as a Fatal ventricular Arrhythmia due to Cardimegaly with hypertrophy. His family & friends are hosting a benefit “Heart Check for Tim” May 15 at the K of C grounds. This event will honor Tim with a Wiffle ball tournament, motorcycle poker run, silent auction & basket raffle, food & cash bar. This event is to raise awareness for unknown heart conditions & provide free onsite heart screenings for all high school students. Our goal is to help prevent any family from going through the pain of losing a loved one as we have. All proceeds raised will help families who have kids with heart issues & the Timothy L. Haley Scholarship Fund at QND. We hope to see you & your family this Sunday May 15 at the K of C grounds! Any questions contact Matt Witte 217-257-9636 or Dorothy Haley 217-430-5351.

Loving God, we thank you for the love of the Mothers you have given us, whose love is so
precious that it can never be measured,
whose patience seems to have no end.
We pray for those Mothers who fear
they will run out of love or time,
or patience. We ask You to bless them
with Your own special love.
Amen
