Friday, October 13: Depart this morning from Woodsville, Li leton & Plymouth. Sit back and relax on‐board your luxury motorcoach. Enjoy NY‐themed movies and games. We will stop for rest breaks and lunch on your own along the way.  

Welcome to the “Big Apple.” For the next three days, we’ll familiarize you with many of the famous sights of the city. Discover the fascina ng neighborhoods of Harlem, and the country’s 5th largest city, Brooklyn.  Tour some of the city’s newest areas, including the High Line and Chelsea Market. 

Upon Arrival: Visit the museum of your choice (admission included):  Guggenheim: As the final project of legendary American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Solomon R. Guggenheim 

Museum is one of the most iconic museums in the world. Housed within the museum are 300 representa ve works culled from the Guggenheim Founda on's 7,000‐piece collec on, including works by Picasso, Monet, and van Gogh.  

Museum of Natural History: The American Museum of Natural History is the largest natural history museum in the world.  The en re museum spans 4 city blocks and consists of some 25 interconnected buildings.  It is home to hundreds of exhibits spanning all parts of the globe and beyond, including full exhibit halls devoted to the ocean, dinosaurs, and even space. 

Metropolitan Museum of Art: Occupying two million square feet, with a permanent collec on of over two million works of art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest art galleries in the world. This famous fine arts museum boasts works from classical an quity, Ancient Egypt, Asia, Byzan um, and Europe, with nearly all of the European masters represented. 

 

Late a ernoon, rest and relax on the coach before dinner while enjoying a narrated tour of the city.  

Dine, family‐style, at Sylvia's "The Queen of Soul Food" legendary restaurant.  A erwards, join our local guide for a tour of Harlem. See the site of the original Co on Club, where Duke Ellington and Lena Horne spent hours wowing crowds from around the world. Drive past the site of the Savoy Ballroom where Benny Goodman and Chick Webb fought it out during their "Ba le of the Bands," and where the Charleston, "Lindy Hop" and the "Big Apple" dances were firmly cemented into American culture.  Visit the world‐famous Apollo Theater, where Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald won the popular "Amateur Night." Pass by Minton's Playhouse, where bebop was born and where Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk started the tradi on of musical jam sessions.  Enjoy entertainment before arriving at the Embassy Suites Meadowland, New Jersey around 10:00pm.   

Saturday, October 14 A er an included cook to order breakfast, we join our local guide on the “Slice of Brooklyn” tour highligh ng the best of this NYC  borough:  Visit  classic  neighborhoods  such  as  DUMBO,  Red Hook,  and  Benson Hurst.    See  the  famous  Coney  Island Boardwalk and Amusement Park; the Brooklyn Army Terminal, where Elvis shipped off to Germany in 1958; the "Gingerbread House"  in  Bay  Ridge;  and  the  iconic  Brooklyn, Manha an  and Williamsburg  bridges.  Experience  two  of  Brooklyn's  best pizzerias, each specializing in different styles of pizza that the borough is known for: Grimaldi’s for their brick oven, Neapolitan‐style, and L&B Spumoni Gardens for their authen c, award‐winning Sicilian‐style.   

Late a ernoon, enjoy free  me in the city or return with us to the hotel to rest and relax or swim in the hotel’s indoor pool, before depar ng for the evening events.   

Gotham West Market dinner.  Choose your meal from a variety of vendors in this trendy, unique market in Hell’s Kitchen. 

 

New York Harbor Lights Cruise (included): Nothing quite compares to seeing the city lights glistening like diamonds on the dark water. Relish the views with a drink  in your hand (from the ship’s fully stocked bar), the breeze  in your face and the NYC skyline shimmering before you.     Sail within 100 feet of the Statue of Liberty for the best photo ops.  Enjoy stunning panoramic views of midtown and lower Manha an.  Your Circle Line’s guide will share insigh ul narra on.    On‐board ameni es include a café, bar, outdoor deck space, heated indoor sea ng with large windows for sightseeing,

Sunday, October 15 Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before check‐out and today’s city a rac ons:  The High Line and Chelsea Market, 10am: NYC's only elevated park is one of the city’s newest and most popular des na‐ons.  A rail track that went out of use in 1980, the High Line was recently resurrected as a 1.45‐mile‐long green space, run‐

ning from Hudson Yards to the northern edge of Chelsea.  Today it’s a playground planted with wildflowers and grasses, offering walkers some of the best views in NYC.   

Lunch is on your own, with plenty of choices:  We suggest that you stop at the Chelsea Market, once the home of the Na‐onal Biscuit Company, the makers of Oreos and Fig Newtons.  This building, near to the Hudson River, is in the area of 

Manha an known as the Meatpacking District.  Chelsea Market today is a great indoor food hall with more than 35 vendors purveying everything from soup to nuts, wine to coffee, cheese to cheesecake.   

NY Botanical Gardens, 1pm:  The New York Botanical Gardens is a Na onal Historic Landmark located in the Bronx. The 250‐acre site's verdant landscape supports over one million living plants in extensive collec ons. The Garden contains 50 differ‐ent gardens and plant collec ons. There is a serene cascade waterfall, as well as wetlands and a 50‐acre tract of original, never‐logged, old‐growth, New York forest.  

Depart for home taking many “Big Apple” memories with you. We will stop en route for rest breaks and a fast food dinner on your own.
