CAE’s approach for a safe return to our Montreal campus

This guide sets out all the procedures and rules in place to ensure

that working in our facilities is safe for everyone

CAE Montreal is taking a cautious and

gradual approach to allow a limited number of

employees to return to our premises

Employees who do not have the authorization

from their manager to work at CAE must

continue to work from home until further

notice

Make sure you read and understand this guide and comply with the measures

on site to protect yourself and others

up at the entrances to guide employees and

indicate the required distance to respect.

Before entering CAE, everyone must follow a set of procedures.

Please plan for extra time to go through all the procedures before entering the facilities.

• Comply with local quarantine requirements;

• Do not have COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms;

• Were not in contact with someone who has COVID-19;

• Comply with the return to work guide and pandemic code of conduct.

An infrared thermometer camera will take your temperature to

ensure you do not have a fever

If your temperature is equal to or above 38 oC/100.4 oF, you

will not be allowed to enter CAE facilities

Note: Self-declaration is still monitored when

guard is not present

CAE is providing surgical face masks and

face coverings to everyone entering its

facilities.

To put the face mask on:

1. Disinfect your hands

2. Put the mask on

3. Disinfect your hands

4. Enter CAE facilities

You must wear the CAE-

provided mask or face

covering at all times, except

when:

▪ Working at your workstation

more than 2 metres from your

colleagues

▪ Eating, drinking, smoking or

showering

Security agent disinfects the table.

The Security agent lays out the masks

When to wear a surgical mask, face covering and eye protection?

Surgical masks are mandatory in the areas where

keeping a two-metre (6 feet) distance with others

is not possible and where indicated.

Closed areas

Certain areas are closed to allow for

better disinfection and cleaning in the

available areas.

As such, you may not be working in your

usual area. Your manager will inform you

where to work before you come to CAE.

Though you will have access to your

personal drawer or desk in closed areas,

avoid using them, as these areas are

not disinfected. If you must access them,

wash your hands afterward.

It is forbidden to work in closed areas



Washrooms

Washroom door to remain open at all times

Hand dryers to be temporarily out of order

and replaced by brown paper

Washing hands is mandatory upon entrance

and before leaving the washroom

If possible,

bring as few items as possible with you

Wear a mask at all times and

try to respect social distancing



Café areas and microwaves are disinfected several times a day by the cleaning crew

Lunch time

Wash your hands and clean the surface

on which you eat before and after

eating

Staff employees must eat at their desk

Those who can’t eat at their desk can eat in the

cafeteria or cafe areas where seating is spread

out and limited to one chair per table. You must

wear a mask in those areas except when eating

and drinking

Cafeteria and café areas are reserved for

production employees from 10:45 a.m.

to 12:35 p.m.

Respect social distancing when using

or waiting for a microwave

Employees are allowed to bring their

lunch and use the fridge



Break areas and water fountains

Café-de-Liesse and Café Van Houtte are

closed until further notice

Wash or disinfect your hands after using

coffee machines, microwaves, vending

machines, etc.

Employees working in office spaces

should eat at their desk



When returning inside, employees must complete the entrance procedures

but they must keep their mask

Pedestrian pathways

▪ Pedestrians must continue to walk within

pathways and keep a two-metre distance from

others

▪ Smokers must go in and around designated

smoking area and respect social distancing

▪ New smoking area near main entrance towards

the door 5 parking lot

Others

▪ Electric car owners should bring disinfecting

wipes or gel to disinfect their hands after

handling the charger

▪ 1 person at a time per bike rack

▪ Basketball court is closed

Locker rooms are disinfected several times a day by the cleaning crew

Self-service cleaning products

Employees can access disinfecting wipes and gel throughout the building to help them

disinfect their hands and other objects and surfaces that they touch during the day.



Office spaces

To allow for social distancing, signage was installed on

workstations that should not be used

Employees can take off their mask when more than two

metres away from their colleagues

Employees must use the same workstation all day

Employees must disinfect their desk after use or before

leaving

Screens, desks, chairs, keyboards and wires are disinfected

several times a day by the cleaning crew

Update your grid location in your Teams or Skype status to indicate where you’re sitting

Centres

Customers do not need to be

accompanied at all times,

unlike other visitors.

Disposable gloves are provided on simulator

podiums and must be used if handling the

checklist (QRH).

Simulator start and stop times must be

respected. If changes occur, call simulator

technicians to advise.

All CAE Montreal preventive measures are applied in CAT and BAT Training Centres unless specified.



Training Centres

Sequence for entering the simulator:

Captain first, First Officer second, then Instructor

Exit sequence to exit the simulator:

Instructor first, First Officer second, then Captain

Disinfection of the simulator throttles and controls before and after

the session

Use laser pointer for briefing and debriefing
