• Clean up desk at the end of each study session• Try to use the same location everyday, but

have a backup location just in case• Build in time for review every day• Get homework in on time, everyday• Allow extra time for assignments, reading and

studying• DO NOT overbook or over schedule your time

• Start each day with a list of what needs to be accomplished

• Prioritize each task from most important to least important

• Stick to the plan (list) of the day and try to minimize distractions

• Finish each list every day• If you can not finish a day’s list, complete tasks first

that you did not finish yesterday first • Be realistic as to how long each task will take

• Make sure to block enough time to complete each task correctly, fully and properly

• Break down large assignments into smaller components. Smaller pieces are more manageable and give a sense of accomplishment

• Use the O.H.I.O. principle—Only Handle It Once

• Stick to the plan (list). Don’t fall into the trap of forgetting the plan

• WORK BEFORE PLAY• You are a student first and foremost. School,

homework and studying are your number one job!

• Take short breaks when you work. Reward yourself with a quick break.
