What is TISI

What is TISI

TISI. - THAI INDUSTRIAL STANDARDS INSTITUTE is a regulation in which TISI. has established to create proper paths for manufacturers to follow in order to help them producing quality product for customers.

TISI. in each categories consist of information involved with product production in each types such as technical standard, important qualifications, efficiency, quality of materials, and product test.

TISI. Number is number used to identify the order of product based on the year the product has received a TISI certification. TISI symbol will be on the product.

Advertisement must not contain the text that seems unfair to customer or can cause any negative effect to society either the detail of the originality of product or quality of product or service including sending, providing, or using product. Method that can be harmful physically and mentally is also not allowed following the ministry rules. False or exaggerated text, text that can lead to substantial misunderstanding toward products or service, text that support or lead toillegal action or any action against common moral, or text that can lead to disharmony in citizen of country are not allowed.Legal action will be taken against the text that is not following the ministry rule.

“Advertisement” is any action communicated to people for business benefit. Text is any action done via letter, picture, film, sound, light, sign and etc. that can be understandable among people. It is not exactly a fact. It is an exaggeration or false content. if some texts can be proved as objective that lead to substantial misunderstanding, then it is the important detail.

Main factors of product/service such as using unclear image and details that lead to or support any action against the law or moral in the country. Ads for DVD player that supports pirate DVD, ads that shows nudity or indecent content, or ads that can lead to disunion among citizen in the country.

Sale Promotion advertisement

Promotion advertisement or sweepstakes must specify the rule, method, condition, regulation, starting date and end date, type, feature, numbers and value of freebie or reward, applicable location (except. nationwide participation), time, venue, media used for winner announcement, and location for picking up freebie (except. Freebie comes with product. Freebie must be clearly specified name and price.

Consumer protection (Label)

Product manufactured or imported for selling is a label-controlled product which requires important details. Furthermore, product that can be harmful mentally and physically, and common product that people use daily also require label for consumer benefit. It’s necessary for consumer to be informed about the facts in product details.

“Label” is a picture, mark, artifact, paper or anything that can have a text, referring to the product, shown on itself.

Product and package are attached together with documents or guideline shown on label-controlled product or package of label-controlled product that has conditions and further details apart from standard mandatory for the safety of consumer.

1. Sack of riceIndicate the type of rice. If there are ingredients in rice, please indicate how to cook it.

2. Gold ornamentIndicate karat, weight, goldsmith's charge, minimum purchase price, and also declare purchase price of gold daily.3. Cut, Cut jewelryIndicate the trade name of gem following the name regulation such as diamond, gem, and ruby. Diamond Substitutes and Synthetic Gemstone is not allowed to use as the name, please use “Imitation stones” instead. Indicate the weight of stone as karat. If you use a cut gold, please indicate the weight and karat of gold.

4. Plastic materialIndicate the use of material. If it is container or package, please leave the warning for using it, for example, if package is not allowed to use with food, please mention “Do Not Use To Contain Food”. If it is furniture, please indicate the maximum allowable weight. If is made of recycled materials, please indicate those materials used.

5. Water Heaters

Please leave a clear warning on the side of heater as “You Can Be Electrocuted To Death By Using It, If You Don’t Have Electric Grounding System”

6. Toothbrush

Indicate the type of brush, materials of toothbrush, and explain how to use it, for example, use to brush your teeth at least twice a day. Indicate the recommended age for kid to use toothbrush, and also leave tips, for example, should deep clean toothbrush after use, and keep it in dry area.

7. Play Vehicles

Tips need to be described as the following: “Not recommended for 4 years-old kid”, “Must wear protective equipment such as helmet and shin guard when using it”, “Expert required for beginner”, “Please use it in an appropriate area”. “If you’re not wearing protective equipment, it can cause fatal” must be mention with big red text (at least 3 mm.) on the product.

8. Multi-purpose oil

Tips need to be described as “For the use of external lubricating works such as components of machine, chainsaw, chain, cogwheel or etc.”. Warning needs to be described with big red text (at least 3 mm.) on the side of package as “Do not use with four-stroke Benzene engine and Diesel engine or use as a substitute for 2T oil”.

9. Containers and Melamine products

Tips need to be described as “Should use sponge or soft fabric to clean up. Before the first use of product, please clean it up with water. Using the product with microwave is not recommended. Warning needs to be described with big letter as “Do not use the product to contain food or liquid with the temperature higher that 100 °C”.

10. Bedding

Label for bedding must be at least 6*8”, and shown with clear and understandable text. The type of bedding such as spring bed, and materials must be shown in label. If there is a variety of material details, description and picture of bedding need to show the materials of bedding such as spring, coconut fiber, rubber or etc.

11. Cool Water DispenseTips Required1) Electrical grounding system must be set up properly along with cool water dispense.2) Earth-leakage circuit breaker must be installed.3) Cool water dispense must be set up in non-electric and dry area.4) Cool water dispense should be checked by electrician at least every 6 months for safety purpose.Warning: “You Can Be Electrocuted To Death By Using It, If You Don’t Have Electric Grounding System”. Do not use soldering iron to fix cool water dispense.

12. Baby walker productTips need to be described as the following “You might be falling over or falling from the higher ground when using this product. Children should be in parent’s sight when using this product. Warning: “This product can not help person on learning how to walk, and can be caused to fatal” must be mention with big red text (at least 5 mm.) on the product.

13. basket of offeringThe list of products need to be informed with size, dimension, quantity, capacity, amount, and price of each products. Address of manufacturer or seller, expiration date and packing date.

14. Laser product

Laser wavelength and laser power need to be described with big red text (at least 2 mm.). “Warning: Do not stare at laser beam. Pointing laser at each others might blind you or hurt you physically” need to be described with big red text (at least 3 mm.) on the product. Text color must opposite to background color.

15. Steel containers and utensils for food

Tips need to be described as the following: do not soak product that doesn’t follow TISI. Or international standard. Do not use steel wool to clean up the product, should use sponge instead, and wipe it until it is dry after use. “Warning: Do not use with microwave” need to be described with big red text on the product. Text color must opposite to background color.

16. Bath tub for kids

Warning needs to be described as the following “Caution: Do not leave kids in the water for too long as they can be drowned even in shallow water. Warning also need to be described in any color that is different from product color. Text needs to be in rectangle form with 3*4 width.

1. Product selection1.1 Study closely on product details such as material, quality, features, guideline, caution or limitation of product (Delivery limitation), competitor product, customer desire, news update and matters of law from various resources.1.2 Select only quality products with reasonable price and proper quantity from reason resources to satisfy customer desire.1.3 Set up a reasonable price that matches product quality, and can compete with other competitor products.2. Picking up and storing products2.1 Picking up products – check the list of product to make sure that all products are accurate quantitatively, and are in good condition.2.2 Storing products – choose the warehouses that are safe, convenient for relocating and checking, and suitable for each products.2.3 Arranging products and choosing products to be sold on the website – choose the right products such as product brought in before or product that is likely to be deteriorated soon in order to clear out the old products in stock.2.4 2.4 Stocking product – study on product sales, customer desire in different periods, price per unit, product lifetime, and deterioration of product to control the inventory. Check the inventory at the right time and randomly perform quality-check on product regularly.
