v Abstract not exceeding 150 words must include 6 -7 keywords. v Research Paper – hard copy as well as soft copy, between 3000 to 5000 words in APA/MLA Style sheet. v Abstracts and Papers must be typed in MS-Word, Font Times New Roman, Font size 12, Single spacing; A4 size paper & Paragraphs not to be indented. v The First Page must include: title of the paper (Font size 14, Bold , No Italics, centre alignment), name of the author/ co-author, institution, address, contact number, email id and an undertaking about the paper being original and unpublished (font size 12, right margin).v The Second Page must include: title of the paper (Font size 14, Bold, No Italics, centre alignment), Abstract and keywords (in caps lock, font size 12, bold and centre alignment), and Author afliation without salutation (font size 12, right alignment). Main paper to start on the same page. v Conference Proceedings will be published with an ISBN after the papers being reviewed by experts and scanned by the anti-plagiarism software. v Papers received after the deadline will not be included in the Conference Proceedings. v Apart from paper presentations, there will be sessions on poetry presentations. A Poetry-Writing Contest for the UG and PG students will also be one of the important attractions of the Conference. The Theme for the poetry competition will be announced on the spot. v No TA/DA will be provided. GIEWEC LIFE MEMBERS will be provided accommodation on twin sharing basis.Registration Form for Participation:Photo copy of the duly lled form is to be sent along with the DD/Cheque to Dr. Rajshree Trivedi, Dept. of English, Maniben Nanavati Women’s College, Vallabhbhai Road, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai-400056, Maharashtra, India before 31st October, 2017. A literary forum of Indian writers in English, entitled Guild of Indian English Writers, Editors and Critics (GIEWEC) was established on 24 September 2010 at Thodupuzha, Kerala, India. It was registered on 13 October 2010 and its Head Ofce is functioning at the residence of the Secretary at Thodupuzha. GIEWEC is a non-prot-making institution aimed at promoting Indian literature in English through the members’ creative and critical writings and by editing and publishing books and journals. The chief objectives of the Guild are: to promote Indian Literature in English, to exchange creative writings between nations, to conduct annual conferences and literary festivals, and to help Ph.D. scholars. The Guild is publishing an international biannual refereed journal entitled Writers Editors Critics (ISSN 2231-198X). It is included in the UGC Approved list of Journals with Journal number 49185. The issues come out in March and September. GIEWEC is fast growing with more than 300 members now of which 76 are patron members. Professors and Lecturers of universities/colleges, professional English writers and PhD research scholars are its members. GIEWEC had already conducted ve national seminars in collaboration with St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam in 2011, K. J. Somayya College of Arts and Commerce, Mumbai in 2012, Pondicherry Central University in 2014, C. M. S. College, Kottyam in 2015 and J. K. C. College, Guntur in 2016 on the topics “Contemporary Indian English Poetry: Dimensions and Directions, “Contemporary Indian Literature in English: Dimensions and Directions,” “Indian Literatures in English: New Directions, Newer Possibilities,” “Environmental Literature and Beyond,” “Multiculturalism, Human Values and Language and Literature” respectively. GIEWEC honoured Literary legends Justice Shri. V. R. Krishna Iyer, Jayanta Mahapatra and Ashokamitran in these festivals. Membership fee of GIEWEC is: Patron – Rs. 6000, Annual – Rs. 1200. Bhagini Seva Mandir Kumarika Stree Mandal started Nootan Mahila College in the Arts stream in June 1972. Shree Chandulal Nanavati Women's Institute and Girl's High School Trust took over the management of the Nootan Mahila College in 1978. The college received permanent afliation to the S.N.D.T. Women's University in 1979. Even since its inception, the College has adopted a totally integrated approach to the development of women in all spheres. The ultimate goal is to enable women to become socially responsible and economically independent citizens. The college offers Under Graduate courses in Ar ts (English and Gujarati Medium), Commerce, Management Studies and Post-Graduate courses in Psychology (Counseling and Clinical) and Commerce (Human Resources Development & Accountancy). The College has a vocational studies centre that offers a wide range of enrichment and extension courses to students to prepare them for taking the challenges of the ever changing trends in the job market.
The Department of English:The Department of English strives to be a centre of excellence for studying, teaching and research in language and literature. The Department was founded in 1972 and has had the privilege of being host to eminent critics, scholars, teachers and writers. The Department has organized State, National and International Seminars and Conferences sponsored by U.G.C. The faculty is involved in a wide range of research projects and activities. The main thrust of the Department, however, is to provide opportunities to students to improve their communication skills and develop a love for literary studies through a variety of activities and innovative teaching skills.
