1. INTRODUCTION
Establishment:
Gulf Coast Dewatering Systems (GCD) brings together over a decade of experience in
the construction and foundation business through its Management and staff.
Established in 17 October 2007 by Mr. Mohammed Al Braiki, who is also the owner of
Zaid & Amro General Transport
In a very short span of time GCD emerged as an active player in the regional construction
and foundation sector by executing its role and responsibilities on time. GCD specializes
in managing dewatering systems for major projects in the United Arab Emirates.

4. MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS & POLICIES
QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (QHSE)
GCD has developed, implemented and is maintaining an Integrated Management
Systems (IMS), which comprises of three international standards:
ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System
ISO 14001:2004 Environment Management System
OHSAS 18001:1999 Occupational Health & Safety Management System
Our integrated Management System is compatible with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS
18001 management systems in order to facilitate the integration of quality, occupational
health and safety, and environmental management systems with all GCD operations and
facilities.
GCD is committed to these policies and has adhered to the requirements of the QHSE
department:
For the development, implementation, registration and maintenance of an IMS
integrated management system comprised of:
4.1. QUALITY MANAGEMENT
The Quality Management System (QMS) was developed and implemented according to
the international standard ISO 9001:2008. This system is being used as a quality
assurance mechanism for the services delivered to clients.
The QMS comprises of the Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Objectives, Procedures, Work
Instructions and Template Forms. The complete system is integrated into a single
package and distributed among the concerned staff within the Organization.

4.1.1. QUALITY POLICY
We, The Management and Employees of GCD, firmly commit ourselves to ensure that all
services in the field of waste management, and related services are executed in
accordance with our client specifications, within the agreed time frame and with
consistent quality level that will meet and exceed our clients expectations.
We will ensure that this policy is conveyed, implemented and maintained through
adequate resources and training, in order to meet the requirements of our clients and
ensure the continuous improvement in the effectiveness of the Quality Management
System. We believe that Quality is everyones responsibility and continuous
improvement is the driving force for success. Therefore, we also commit ourselves to
continually improve the quality of our service and by continually reviewing and
monitoring operations and achieving our objectives.
4.1.2. QUALITY INSPECTIONS
Our quality inspections are conducted on a daily basis via internal auditing of
operational services. Inspections are carried out at various sites by the Quality
Inspectors throughout the project area within the contract zone.
The basic purpose of inspections is to verify operational services in accordance with the
clients requirements by:
Identifying internal service deficiencies
Informing the Operations Department to take immediate and effective corrective
actions
Improving operational services for overall company performance
Taking effective measures to reduce the number of complaints

Quality Inspections are performed based on pre-defined plans. Quality Inspection & Test
Plans (QITPs) are prepared on weekly basis and are then approved by the executive
Management. According to the approved plans, the scheduled districts are inspected by
the designated Quality Inspector. Internal deficiencies are reported to the Call Center in
order to initiate corrective actions by the operational team.
At the end of every inspection day, the Quality Inspector discusses all identified internal
deficiencies with the senior responsible operational staff for corrective and preventive
actions to be taken.
The performance of weekly inspections is reported to the Management and our
concerned client.
4.2. HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT
The Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System was developed and
implemented in accordance with the international specifications of OH&S 18001:1999.
The OH&S Management System comprises of the OH&S Manual, OH&S Policy, OH&S
Objectives, Procedures, Work Instructions and Template Forms.
Training sessions are a regular part of Health & Safety requirements and are provided
both internally and externally by qualified resources. On a regular basis, the HSE Officer,
in coordination with the QHSE Manager, assesses the needs and provides OH&S training
to employees at operational sites and in housing facilities.

4.2.1 HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
GCD aims to provide its clients with quality services that conform to their specific
requirements in order to gain customer satisfaction and trust. At the same time, the
operational activities Solid Waste Collection, Street Sweeping and Cleaning Services,
shall be conducted to give:
a) Foremost importance to the health and safety of our employees and the
community members, who may be affected by its operations.
b) Appropriate attention to the conservation of health and safety in all operational
areas.
To implement this policy, we shall:
Provide the management structure and resources necessary to manage its
operational potential risks on Human Health & Safety and Environment.
Comply with all national and local applicable laws, regulations and requirements.
Hold all levels of management, supervision and staff accountable for health &
safety issues and for the development of positive attitudes among all employees
of the company.
Supervise, identify, monitor and control all companys operational activities in
order to eliminate, reduce or isolate associated risks on the health, safety and
environment.
Provide adequate training to employees and develop and maintain emergency
procedures in cooperation, where necessary, with suppliers and sub-contractors,
local authorities and emergency services providers.
We believe that good health and safety performance is an integral part of its business
and considers all health and safety issues as a part of its primary business objectives and
is committed to continually improve it.

4.3. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
ISO 14001 sets requirements for the Environment Management System to control and
improve GCDs environmental performance, which has a significant environmental
impact as a result of the activities and services provided.
The Environment Management System was developed, implemented and is being
maintained. It comprises the Environmental Manual, Environmental Policy, Objectives,
Procedures and Template Forms.
4.3.1 ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
GCD has established and is implementing this policy in order to:
Provide required resources to manage potential risks for the environment.
Comply with all applicable national and local laws, regulations and relevant
requirements.
Hold all levels of management and supervisory staff accountable for
environmental issues.
Identify, monitor and control all activities within the organization in order to
eliminate, reduce or isolate associated risks on the environment.
Provide appropriate training to employees.
Develop, implement and maintain emergency procedures, where necessary, in

collection, street sweeping and cleaning.

Implement, maintain and communicate the policy to all employees and make it
available to the public.
GCD is committed to establish, maintain and continually make improvements for a healthier
environment.
