Gun Nozzle Replacement & Maintenance Revision Date / Version: 2/13/2014 - 3 The Swing gun uses a gun nozzle tip for grabbing stones from the hoppers and exchanging them to the lower gun to be placed onto the transfer sheet. Over time, dirt and oil will make its way into the nozzle assembly and make it stick and lessen the spring reaction when the nozzle tip is pressed in. When this happens Maintenance will need to be done to clean the Gun nozzle to increase the spring reaction to as new condition. Other issues is the hole of the nozzle tip which provides the vacuum to lift a stone will become worn away to a point air will be able to wrap around the smaller SS06 stones and the stones will start to shift on the nozzle tip making collision with other already placed stones and making the stone being placed to flip upside down or on its side. In this situation replacing the Gun nozzle is recommended Gun Nozzle Maintenance: Tools Needed: 1) 8mm Combination Wrench (Supplied with the new machines) 2) Paper towel 3) 3 in 1 oil or any machine oil 4) 70% Isopropyl Alcohol The gun nozzle comes in 4 pieces (See Image Below). You have the nozzle tip, the spring, the housing, and the collar screw which holds it all together. Be sure to work over a table cause these pieces especially the collar are very small and get lost easily. Below are some illustrations of how to take it apart and you will want to use 3 in 1 oil to lubricate the “O” ring on the gun nozzle and lightly oil the housings interior. I use a cue tip with some oil on it and wipe inside the housing. You will need a vice grip and another pair of pliers. Adjust the vice grip to just hold the collar screw (Be careful not to crush it as the nozzle tip shaft is hollow and can crush with too much pressure, you want to adjust the vice grip around the collar screw to help you unscrew it from the nozzle tip shaft. With your second pair of pliers, hold the nozzles tip and with the vice grip. Unscrew the collar screw from the nozzle tip shaft and you can then disassemble the gun nozzle.

    The way you put it together is the spring goes onto the Nozzle tip shaft, and then it is inserted into the Housing and is secured by screwing the collar bolt onto the end.

    Gun Nozzle Tip Replacement: To Replace Gun Nozzle assembly, use the supplied 8mm combination wrench to remove the gun nozzle from the Swing gun, then replace with new one ensuring that it is snug but do not over tighten as it could strip the threading inside the Gun Rod.
