Training and organizational capacity

GURT Resource Centre is the leading national centre for societal information and expertise that was founded in 1995 and registered in 1996.

GURT’s mission is to foster societal transformations in Ukraine by developing and using the potential of civil society organizations.

GURT Resource Centre

To create access to socially important information for main community stakeholders (CSOs, businesses, state institutions, media) through further development of the network of civil society reporters and experts.

To promote societal transformations in Ukraine being a gateway for innovations, best national and international practices.

To facilitate building of positive reputation of Ukrainian civil society by fostering transparency, accountability, and performance standards among CSOs.

• 14 years of training experience• More than 50 complex training contracts administrated at the request of Ukrainian and international organizations• More than 10 000 participants• Over 300 trainings conducted• Network of 30 trainers and 8 international consultants• GURT is founder and developer of GITG - GURT International Training Group

Approaches

Community changes derive from effective partnership relations between its key players: local authorities, businesses and civic initiatives, and this concept is inbuilt in all our programs.  We consider any organization and community as complex adaptive system with potential for self-development.

We use interactive and participatory approaches in preparing and providing training services, which include such methodologies as Participatory Assessment, Open Space, GE WorkOut, Future Search.

Network of trainers and experts

As a result of implementation of different programs GURT has established a network contacts in target regions with trainers, experts, local authorities that will ensure the organization of trainings

Logistics

From the logistics point of view GURT has organized: • more than 100 trainings in all regions of Ukraine; • more than 10 study tours and internship programs to other countries as well as hosted study visits or international meetings in Ukraine; • more than 10 national and international conferences.

These events were organized within the project or contracts with EC, PACT, UNDP Ukraine, Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Royal Netherlands Embassy, Forum Syd, AED (USA) and many others.
